Default Turbo Question

Okay so I have been saving up and thinking about putting a turbo kit on my tc and have a couple of questions, I have searched but really didn't find the answer I was looking for. I have been looking at the S1 dezod turbo kit and from my understandings pretty much comes with everything you need. My question is about tuning. I have a person around my area who has installed turbo chargers and superchargers but I'm not sure if he can tune it. I looked into it and saw that dezod has a base-tune. what exactly does is that? How much horse and psi is that? and could I just run base tune until I get more money to get a better tune? I have heard that driving with a untuned turbo is really bad, so I wanna make sure if I purchase the s1 kit and have the base tune it will be fine. thanks in advance

The base tune will be fine until you can get it properly tuned by a professional.

The base tune is free - comes with the kit. It basically has the correct settings for an idle and light throttle driving.

I would suggest towing your car to a tuner just in case you can't control yourself or your tuner is far away.

Base tune is just to get your tuner started. U could drive on it as long as you stay out of boost but your best bet is to wait untill you can get it properly tuned

The base tune is basically there to allow the car to run properly with the new 550cc injectors that were installed with the kit. Other than that, it really isn't tuned at all for boost.

You NEED to go get your car properly tuned by a professional if you want any kind of longevity from your turbo kit and engine. You can drive the car on the base tune, but it is meant specifically for the purpose of getting it to the tuner if you install it yourself.

The kit comes with a base map to get the car started. All the parts in the world mean nothing without a proper tune set up for your personal car. Good luck with boosting your car, if you have any questions feel free to email me at the email in my signature

The base tune we offer with the kit is a decent starting foundation for our system at 8 PSI of boost. It's intend to cut down on your tuner's time he has to spend on it.
