should i go with lowering springs( and if so waht other things do i need, bumbstops? , spacers) , coilovers, or just bag it....id like to hear some pros and cons to all......

What's your general location on the globe? How well are the potholes in your area? Do you have major areas with overly excessive speed bumps?

Bags allow you to fine tune your ride while you are driving if you really wanted to. Just be careful when going back down as you could go too low.

Coilovers give you the option of fine tuning your ride completely right down to the amount of camber (some options). The problem in with coilovers is the need to stop completely to do any adjustments.

Lowering springs are static... no adjustments. If you don't like to tweak much then this is one of the better choices. Also the level of complexity is all but gone with these. It's install, drop, done.

The big thing to look at is what type of driver are you and what are you looking for in the way of driving. If you don't want to mess with things much then coils will give you everything you need (for the most part). Coilovers and bags will give you more options and better control over ride comfort.

Personally, I love bags... I'd rock'em so fast it'd make your head spin. However, I'm not willing to drive down the road with the worry that the bags could have a problem and potentially cripple my box completely.

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention, I don't have any suspension mods outside of an RSB. So take my thoughts with a grain of salt.

well im in cleveland.....im sure its like anywhere else....some freeways are real nice, some backroads have potholes.....i want a nice smooth ride with no worries...what did u mean by airbags completly crippling yer ride? do they have problems.....ive heard there pretty much hassle free? im not racing the xb and im not goin to competitions.... i just love the LOW look but im worried with just the lowering springs about driveways and potholes....i got the money for bags, but dont want em if there gonna be a headache or money pit.

Bags can be problematic in the winter gotta make sure the water traps don't freeze and stuff like that. Also gotta worry about getting a hole in the bag.

If you do coilovers, you can go low in the summer and raise it up in the winter.

I'm on a spring/shock combo and it's plenty low enough for Chicago streets. I put my stock suspension back on for winter.

from what you describe, I'd go coilovers too.

well i do own a toyota 4x4 that i plan on driving in the winter while i keep the xb in the garage...its not a heated garage, would the frozen water in the traps still be a problem with bags or not a big deal since i wont be driving it? ive given plenty of thought to coilovers but it just seems like for a lil more you got bags.....

Well, you can do coils for under a grand. A good bag system is certainly over a grand.

STD (teh pwn), Tein, Megan Racing, Tanabe... there are others. Best thing to do is to see what others like and talk with the experts about them.

my box is on lowered springs now and we do alot of freeway driving. we are getting a little tired of the bouncyness, especially in the rear. and i am wondering what would give me a better ride coilovers or bags? any body out there tried both? any suggestions?

Bounciness in aftermarket coils? What is your suspension setup (shocks, springs, etc)? You may just need different springs/shocks and you will be fine.

i keep hearin about the std coils and saw a few pics....anybody know where to find those?

The STDs are going to run you about 2000+, it's cheaper to go bags. The level of tweaking you can do with the STDs are insane.

yeah the stds looked amazing on some pics i saw but for that price you might as well go with bags.... how do you feel about progress coilovers? i read on club xb they got an amzing drop, but you need to replace the shocks if you buy those....but everyone said for the price theyre great?
