A friend of mine and I have decided to expand one of the local forum to include all other makes of Toyota/Lexus/Scion vehicle. Kinda like the TORC for DFW area. Anyways, it is just a proposal for now until I see a large interest in a formation of a group like what I'm about to propose. I've posted this up at the 9thgencorolla forum in the DFW area. I know this is risky stuff trying to forum a group that is outside the model of the vehicle but I feel that we are depriving passionate owners of their meets.
To sum it up, I would like to merge (meeting wise, not forum wise) 9thgencorolla, newcelica, matrixowners, and possibly scionlife, camrys and so forth into this new group. Some who is passionate about their Toyota. This is a group that is not purely focus on performance.
No this isn't a Corolla only meet. Myself and another member on 9thgen consider forming a new group of Toyota/Lexus/Scion member. Since a Corolla only group is very limited in the DFW area. If we are successful, we could start a whole new chapter for the area and could possibly branch off the 9thgen group. We want people who are passionate about their Toyota and maybe in time, we could expand to Nissan, Honda and so forth. This isn't a group about performance or bragging rights. But we will continue to do what we have done in the past. If they need help on installing something, we'll still continue to do that. It's a group that is open minded to what is out there.
What we are proposing is that we start expanding outward to include all Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicle. I know that we have try doing this in the past but I somehow think that the Corolla name has scared a lot of people because of what of their impression on sport compact car are. We were successful in having MO, scionlife and new celica come to our meets and we want to continue to have a strong relation with those groups. But we need passionate people who enjoys their rides, whether modded or not, driving Echo or LS460s to join our group.
We just need a group who is passionate about their cars. We need people to spread the word out to other people.
We will have the same format as before, install meets, causal hangout meets, photo session and such......and we could continue to having monthly/weekly meets.
