Default Question about the windshield?

I have to get mine replaced and my insurance is ____ay.... What is the average price of a windshield without insurance? And what have you guys paid for yours... I think my deductible is $300 but I was told that I would have to pay an extra 200 on top of that... Thats bogus

I just got one for 228.00 installed, cash money. I think 250.00 would be pretty average.

Well, when I had Geico, they would patch a window for free and if they couldn't repair it, they said they would charge $50 for a replacement.

Now I'm with Progressive and they don't have separate glass claims... falls under comprehensive. My comp deductible is $250. My roommate just had the windshield on his tC replaced and it cost him $430...

They should only charge you your deductible to get it replaced. Not more on top. Either way, probably still be cheaper to go through insurance.

I'm on my third windshield. Both were cracked due to road debris (both of crap falling out of trucks in front of me). Luckily in Florida it's state law that insurance companies are required to provide free replacement Looking at the receipts from the windshield people it would have cost $250 if I had to pay for it myself.

If you have to pay $500 for a windshield - Don't! Shop around.

Yeah if the tC is only $430 to replace the xB should not be $500. The average price is like mentioned $200-$250

Mine was done a year ago for around $270. My deductible was 100 out of pocket and insurance picked up the rest.

x2, except I have State Farm. I've only had the xB a little over a year & am on my third windshield. Dunno what it is about living in AZ, but I go through at least 1 windshield a year on all my vehicles. Out here, typical price for an xB is $250-300. For my Lincoln Aviator, it's close to $500. Full glass coverage on our auto policies w/no deductible costs us a total of $30 per year for 4 vehilces...//TJ
