didnt you already have a thread of Pirelli vs Kumho? you could have just changed the tittle instead of making another thread....

why dont you tell us what you looking for? honestly most people would be fine with some cheap Nexen tires, but what are you looking to get out of your tires? Grip, Life, All season, Summer performance, weekend autoX, wet grip? Etc, Etc

^^exactly, I still have the stock bridgestone turanzas on my car and haven't had any problems in the rain and the kumho got a lot higher rating then mine. The kumhos are great tires for the money, I had them on my old car and my friend had them on his car we both loved them.

When I bought one of my sets of used stocks, two had the kumhos, and the other two had the continentals.
i'd go with the kumhos though, although I can't really tell which outperforms the other.

If you have more wet weather the Conti are better in the wet if not the ASX is just a hair better in the dry. The ASX are also $13 cheaper per tire in the 215/45-17 size on Tirerack.Com.

But has anyone brought up the Fuzion ZRi tire yet?? Very high marks, 320 UTQG rating, $85 for a 215/45-17 and Fuzion is tire made for the tuner market by Bridgestone.

Continentals are a much better quality tire. Yokohomas and Pirelli are also great tires.

It's not a question of how fast a person wants to drive but more of how much control do you still want to have in the wet?? And that is very important at ANY speed when the roads are wet or damp.

very true, regardless in the rain you shouldnt be driving at high speeds and i have the asx'x and they're a big improvement coming from my potenza re760 sports in the rain.

id like to see pics of that! i hear a lot of people talk down nexen because of their price, very few people have acctual experience.

ive had 2 sets of nexen, the last set lasted me 40k miles, wore down evenly, and had decent grip in all conditions despite their low price! Nexens are made in Korea the same as Kumho and Hankook, they are slowly bringing up their quality as well!

the biggest cause of tire failure is owner neglect, lack of rotation, not checking tire pressures, tire abuse (burnouts and such)

sorry to rant, but im just talking from experience!

like i said to the OP, he has to decide what he wants out of his tires before he can decide where to look! he would probably be fine with some nexen tires!

i still have my nexen on my rear wheels it prolly like 30K miles for 3 years already and it hasnt been rotated, the front went away 15K miles ago and the toyo proxes4 that replaced it now needs to be changed.. traction was fine when it had good thread left but after its worn its like floating on the rain lol, but yeah its like that with any other tires

Well the OP hasn't really stated what type a driver he/she is which makes the choice of tire that will be perfect for him/her that much more specific. Most of the tires I'm talking about are in the top 5% of performance tires and this person might be very happy with a tire that's in the top 20% to 5% range.

I'm sure most stock tires that come on most cars are decent enough, will last 40-60k with out much issue for normal every day driving done by your average person. However when pushed hard they will fail to be useful to me and the way I drive. So will a Nexen 3000 tire be fine for most people, sure it will but for an aggressive driver it won't be.

Any tire that squeals like a pig in moderate speed turns isn't the tire for me.

^thats exactly what i said in his other thread as well, he needs to let us know what he's looking for, otherwise we will just recommend what we are happy with, not exactly what he is looking for
