Floating around the net, ive seen random pics for a cluster displayed in km/h. Im assuming this is JDM. Does anyone know where I might be able to get one?

You can switch the speedo over. In fact it is easy to make one yourself, but then your odo will still be in miles. This is the only reason I didn't switch.

But by all means, go spend a bunch of money on the whole gauge cluster from japan. It's something like $200 from the dealer here, if you can get them to sell it to you, not to mention the compatibility issues and the fact that YOU ALREADY HAVE KILOMETERS/HOUR ON YOUR FACTORY SPEEDOMETER.

True, I do, on the inside. Sure would be nice to have them on the outside. And i realize that JDM is expensive. My last car was chopped full of it. I am no noobie to that. COmpatability issues? Likely isnt any. I could get it from a dealer, thank you Captain Obvious! But, many time, there is online places that specialize in car specific parts and accessories (eg, www.corksport.com is exclusive to mazda parts).

Im sorry man, your right. Its not that bad of an idea. Ive posted this thread on a couple of car forums and people have priased your ideas actually. The only thing they say that I should do different is to use cardboard as it will be more durable than paper and to make sure I fully utilize my entire box of JDM crayons.

It's a damn electro-luminescent overlay. People make guage face OVERLAYS in their home all the time. If you want to cough up the cash for a JDM cluster, that's great! Like I stated earlier, good luck in your quest. If you are able to find the authentic JDM cluster I'm certain it won't be cheap. Then you'll find out someone made one that looks just as nice using Photoshop and some high gloss photo paper. If I make one and post it up on ebay will you cough up $250 for it? Let me know when I should start on it. 8)

DIY being done proffesional is fine, but, the way you were talking in your first couple posts was like, 'Meh, just draw it on paper...no biggy!'

na, the gauges just have motors that go to an angle, so all you have to do is get the angle perfect when you make the switch

i allready seperated the wires .it's not hard , i just need to get the actualy gauge face made.

Scan that fool into your computer and make one for yourself.

First off, I was wanting to buy a real JDM cluster...not a 'jay dee em' cluster from ebay.

Guys, re-read my orignal post. In case your new to the car scene, there is usually shops specific to a brand (I gave the example of Corksport for mazda) that deal EXCLUSIVLY with performance, JDM, and hard to get parts for that vehicle. What I had asked, since ive never owned a toyota before and only have had my xB for 2 days, is if such a shop/company existed for toyota parts from the US (as I dont even know of any here in canada).
So, as to:

that was an assumption you made, not something I stated.
