where do you guys get the info on TSBs? the only ones I can find are for the 2004 xb (no 2005 data out yet).

The 2004 data doesn't seem to mention that particular problem unless that's what
"Engine Controls - O2 Sensor Threshold Monitor Values" meant.

I got the data from alldata.com (or autozones for professionals site which goes to the same place):

Yeap my 2004 xB has this problem, and hasn't really bothered me until today, when it was 30 degrees outside...

Yea, my 2005 xB has been doing that. It acts like its full right when i first start pumping gas. I gotta play around with it until it gets into a more comfortable position or something. I haven't had that problem until it started getting cold.

Damn, I thought it was the pump itself. Good thing I read these forums :)

I found if I just pulled the nozzle out a little bit it was fine.

Yea, there is a Technical Service Bulletin out about that same thing. I have the numbers at home. It covers all years and is free to fix from the dealer if you complain. If I'm not mistaken, it was fixed on a production run after a certain VIN number. Your dealer will know.

So what are they really replacing? is it a new fill tube? bc I may not worry with this, I have delt with this problem from the start, April 7, 04' and 32,000 miles on it so I have pumped a lot of gas and have learned to deal with it. I s it a warrenty thing or is it an anytine I get up there thing?

I would have it done before warrenty runs out to be safe.

they replace the tank and the filler tube. My guess is the tube goes in a new place in the tank to make it flow right, so they have to replace both. It's under warranty. (free to you)

Ok, I took my 05 xB in to the dealer for the annoying pump thing. I am able to get gas in the car, but it does keep clicking about every 50 cents or so. At one point I had the attendants tell me that my gauges were broken. I have been to about 10 or 11 different gas stations in my area, and the same thing happened in each of them. The dealer told me that there was nothing wrong with my car, and that we would just have to "play it by ear"......

I got my car at Scion of Morristown, in NJ. Apparently, they have never heard of this problem before.....no one had ever come in requesting service like I did. What they told me to do is to drain the tank to about 1/4 tank, and then if I go to fill it, and it does the same thing, stop immediately and bring the car in. Now why the hell couldn't they tell me to drain the tank before I came in? Now I have to waste another day from work to deal with this crap. And they said that if they still can't find anything wrong with it, there is nothing they can do, and that if it keeps happening, oh well......they didn't actually say "oh well".....but that is basically the attitude they had.

My question is, where have those of you who had this problem fixed actually get your car? Scion asked if I would somehow try and find out some of the dealers that this has happened at already. I'm not sure if I believe that they have NEVER heard of this before, but what the hell am I supposed to do? They could say whatever they want and I'd probably believe it.

Just tell them you want TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) # EG049-04. They should be able to look this up themselves but sometimes you have to light a fire under thier ___.

Take this number to them and tell them to pull their head out of their arse.

TSB EG049-04 November 19, 2004

Then ask to talk to the manager, tell him/her about the time you had to take from work. Then call Scion Customer Service and tell them about the situation and how it was handled.

Yeah, go to the Scion Customer Sevice site and report it and they will send you a free t-shirt. They sent me one whn I complained about the dealership not feeling my tank back up after doing the TSB.

I went through this list last week and have already made my appointment for next Saturday. They'll also be addressing at least a couple of the hundred or so rattles this thing has.

Thank you to everyone who answered my question about this TSB thing. Now I can take that TSB# right to them. I would like to hear them say then that they still never heard of this before. That sounded a little strange that no one there knew what I was talking about. They looked at me like I sprouted a 2nd head or something. :x

Since I live in NJ, I still get my gas pumped by someone :P ......and I had to put gas in today until I can find time to go to the dealer. I could only put $5.00 worth in, because the entire time the pump was in, it had to be held and was a constant click......it's freakin' annoying :x

But thanks to you all for helping me out......much appreciated :D

I can't ride my car off a cliff. I spent all the money I have buying it
Plus I love it too much. It just sucks having to deal with sh*t like this. I got rid of my VW because it was 5 years of constant pain, and I was so hoping this would be different. :(
