iPod 4th gen Nano does not draw power from radio
I bought an new "4th gen" iPod Nano, thinking my xD Pioneer unit would power it like the other iPods I've used with it. But I was wrong. The radio does not give juice to it, although everything else appears to function as with the earlier gen iPods. I talked to the Best Buy people who said Apple moved the pin assignments for power for unknown reasons. Therefore, I need a reconfigured cable.
Has anyone heard whether Scion or Pioneer will be producing an interface cable with the correct pin assignments to power the Nano? If I knew what they were, I could try making it myself.
Any help would be appreciated.

Anyway the Scosche passport will allow any iPod that won't charge to charge on head units (basically ones that weren't designed for the new iPods). However it WILL NOT fix the issue if the firmware can not read your iPod or play from it. If the iPod will not play at all on the head unit, the passport will not help.
its because the 4th gen nanos. the touches and i-phone,i-phone 3g's pin setup was moved around, so normally where u would hook up the charging pins dont match and thank apple for making a big mess of all this
I have the Passport and it works great on my new Nano. Charges fine.
I found out it didn't charge on a 5 hour trip (one way) with no cd's in the car... needless to say my first purchase afterward was the Passport.
