so i've been looking for BBS LM replica wheels for my future Tc, and i found some on ebay for a decent price.. but the bolt patterns are 5x130 or 5x120! Scions are 5x100 right? what can you do if the bolt pattern isn't the same? is it just tough luck and try to find some other wheel?

I know H&R makes adapters. You'll have to check with them to see if they have one that goes from 5×130 to 5×100. I'm fairly sure they build one as I've seen Porsche wheels (5×130) on VW GTI's (5×100). You may need a custom one built as the VW has a centerbore of 57.1mm and the Scion is 54.1mm, or have the adapter machined to accomodate a 3mm center ring. This way everything will be hubcentric. Make sure the Porsche wheel (5×130) is for the front of a later model (1995 or newer) Porsche 911 or Boxster. These cars usually take about a 50 offset wheel in the front so with the adapter you should be around ET30 or so. I wouldn't bother with the 5×120 wheels as they are most likely BMW fitments so by the time you put the adapters on they will stick outside of your fender line. Good luck.

5x100 to 5x130 adapters for VW's may not fit since VW's use lug bolts instead of lug nuts. I'd be concerned about possible clearance issues from the lug stud & nut, which may prevent the wheel from sitting flat against the spacer (unless the back of the wheel has gaps between the lug holes).
Also 5x100 VW's also use 14mm holes, while Japanese cars all use 12mm holes. So if you dont have the spacers seated hubcentrically, there will be alot of vibration (and destroy your wheel bearings fast).
You can also get 5x100 to 5x112 adapters to run Mercedes and Audi (A4, A6, A8 ) wheels, which can be found in high offsets (50+).
I totally recommend wheeladapters.com. I've seen their work/products and I'm quite impressed. Fred is a cool guy too. He has every possible factory wheel measurement memorized LOL. Just drive up to his shop and he'll make some within an hour.
