I'll start this out. I work in the aerospace industry. Currently I am a 'Buyer'. I source parts and whatnot for our facility. I have mulitple other job functions as well but that is my primary. I enjoy it some days. It's a decent job with decent pay so i can't complain. It'd be nice if it were a little more lively here though  .

Well, I work in IT doing support for a 3rd party logistics company. There are days when our program breaks we cant find 2 seconds to ourselves and then there are other days when we dont know what to do with ourselves. Pay is good, bennies good and I get to work with my Dad which is pretty cool. Big downside is being a 'fix-it' guy, i never get to deal with people in a great mood, kinda tough always dealing with the frustrated and angry but I'll live.

my job is "iight" for the most part. good bennies, decent pay, etc. i won't complain too much. as for what i do:

im the VP assistant and sales coordinator for a large employer/supplier of temporary manual labor. pretty much anything that has to do with signing, pricing, etc. large accounts i do that (i don't actually SELL the account, thats for the sales people to do). and of course all of the duties that go along with being a VP assistant. i also book and manage tradeshows, and blah blah blah, the list goes on and on.

I am a Library Assistant and Information Specialist Substitute at the Bellevue Regional Library (thats a mouthful!).

I've been at the library for 7 years next month, first as a page (grunt) and now in the aforementioned positions. What that basically means is I'm part of the inner workings of the library. I check items out to you, and back in when you return them. I answer questions over the phone, and call you when you screw up. I grab items that are requested via phone or catalog. As an Information Specialist, I help you find items you're looking for, and control use of meeting rooms and study rooms.

Do I enjoy my job? Sometimes. It can be one of the most rewarding jobs around, helping people (and especially children) find literature that may affect them in life-altering ways can be an amazing thing. But it can also be the worst job around, dealing with people who care nothing for how the system works and what the rules are, and would rather _____ incessantly about a $.10 fine for 20 minutes, than spend 30 seconds digging through their fat wallets looking for a dime.

On top of that, my co-workers are a mixed bunch (like any other job, I'm sure). One of my co-workers is my best friend and room-mate. Several of them I count as good friends, entertaining individuals whom I would gladly interact with outside of work as well as while there. There are others whose continued employment defies logic. Altzheimers victims and ESL students whose lack of understanding of the english alphabet makes our job more difficult, as we clean up the mistakes they make.

I rant because the job can be trying sometimes, but it pays very well and has great benefits. I find it nearly impossible to leave because of how difficult it would be to find better. I appreciate the job, what its done for me and what it continues to do. I just wish conditions were a bit better. If wishes were horses, eh?

*Edit* DAMN I talk too much!

I'm Active Duty in the AF. Currently I work in a communications career field. It's allright. I'm still adjusting to it. I used to be Aircraft Armament, so pretty much anything is better than 12 hour shift's around F-16's in all weather conditions. I do miss the excitement and adreniline rush that came with my other job (not to mention the commrodory). Here I "manage" a LAN as well as WAN. The best aspect about doing comm is the training that we get. Which I consider to be part of the benefits, you can't really beat them. You put up with alot of sh!t at the same time though, deployments, hours etc... (too many to list). And the pay isn't that great, but this is an excellent stepping stone if I chose to follow up in the IT field after my enlistment is up (not until 09). Which I haven't decided on just yet...

I am a security Guard! I sit in a guard shack in the midle of the night and play on the computer. I make decent money to do jack crap. Youd think it wouldnt get that bad, but after a 12 hour shift you run out of things to look at on the internet. I only work 4 days a week, but I work two 12 hour shifts so I still get a full 40 and there is always overtime available. My job rocks all in all, I just get bored WAY too easy. Im considering going BACK into the military (I was in the navy). yup.

Hey UWbradley, what would it take to get some TV coverage of one of the events we're doing?

It depends. My station isn't really a news station- so unless it is commercial related or we are making money off of it there isn't a chance really. I saw the thread about the Carribean grand opening thing- that has potential, being that it is based around a commerical for a client.

If the group wanted to get together and sponsor an event that we cover (like daffodil parade, or sponsor one of our locally created shows like Movies on the Run on Sunday afternoons) - there is another opportunity to get coverage. (however, this is not cheap)

One other way I can think of to get on is having our host of the Movies on the Run show, Chris Cashman, use you guys as the basis of one of his Movies on the Run shows. For example- for the Movie last weekend, 8 Millimeter- he did his show from the Underground Tour in Pioneer Square. Kinda neat. Maybe if we have a movie about cars or whatever coming up- he can base his segements of the show around a club meeting or something like that. I don't know the movie list of the top of my head- but I can check it out at work tomorrow-
