Default New Scion xD Owner here!

Hey guys. I just traded in my 2003 Saab 9-3 Linear for a 2008 Scion xD with Navigation yesterday. What an amazing ride it is! I will post pictures as soon as I am able to. I was a member of SaabCentral.com for several years and look forward to becoming a part of the ScionLife.com community, looks like you guys have a great site here!

While we're not exactly born from jets around here, we were pooped out of a Toyota, and proud of it!

Enjoy the boards and congrats on the D!

Lol... sounds good, I'm an airline pilot so I still get to 'hang out with the jets' in the most literal form.

Forgot to mention that my xD is Grey in color and has an automatic transmission. I am having a little bit of trouble navigating the search function. Is there any way to target the xD section of the boards while searching or is it just system wide? I am looking for relevant posts on lowering the driver seat height (maybe a few inches, I am 6'2" tall), posts on installing an auto-dimming mirror and on selecting and installing a center arm rest.

Thanks guys for the welcome!

Ahh... I answered my own question... found the Search button as opposed to using the input box at the top.

Don't worry about the seat yet. Try to adjust to the more upright seating position. You'll never get comfortable if you try to recline like in your Saab. I had the same feeling when I moved from a VW Golf to the xD... the seating position is odd at first, but now I really like it. I had to drive my dad's Jetta and it felt like I was sitting on the floor! I'm 6'2" also.

I think Zeta arm rests are pretty nice looking but I've yet to buy one.

Welcome to SL!

I used to work for Saab, as a mechanic, back in '98. I used to drive an '88 Saab 9000 5 speed... a great turbo'd car!

one idea I tried is an extender on the shifter. you'll find it much more comfortable to drive, unless you have an automatic...I think the seat is a little high too. and I'm less than 6 feet tall. but whatever. drop a conefilter on the intake pipe and that makes up for it
