Default Chime when stopping?

Whenever I slow to a stop while I'm in gear with the clutch in, at about 10mph I hear a small chime coming from somewhere around the driver's area. It's about as loud as the blinker. Is this normal? Is it a warning that I'm still in gear?

hmm idk, ive never heard it before...but my clutch pedal spring makes a similar noise when i push it in swiftly....i dont think its a reminder because technically, i think u have to stay in gear at all times on the road (i know..its stupid but im pretty sure its a law)

Thanks. I don't think anything is broken, I was just curious. It's only around that speed with the clutch all the way in.

Is it a chime like a beep, or clicker such as the blinker? or is it a chime , say more like a clunk? Ive never heard anything like this on my car, so I would be just as clueless as you.

On a side note, when im coming to a stop (less than 10mph), and switch to 1st with the clutch in, i hear a whining sound where the pitch is higher at higher speeds, and lower at lower speeds. I have no idea what it is, but I think its normal since there have been no problems at all with my car. is that what yours is like?

No. It is a chime. Like a small ting. I guess the best thing I could compare it to is a triangle, like the instrument, but not as loud.

This is the Synchros spinning the collar faster. Whenever this happens to me the whining will happen, then the car will go into gear and the whining stops. It's completely normal.

BTW I don't think you are supposed to shift into first below 10 mph's though, I did this and kept getting problems where it would grind a little going into gear, at least this is what I was told by my "engineer" brother.

sounds like the spring at the top of the clutch pedal.. might want to take a look under there and push it down watching it. might need some grease.
