i'm quite the car newb, but if you were to purchase an automatic xB and got a decent muffler, would the sound still be there? Like when swithcing gears on a manual. Thanks for your help i nadvance, this can predict whether i get auto or manual transmission.

I've got the precisionmuffler.com axleback on my auto xB and I think it sounds good. Nice and low, respectable, not ricey. Some peeps will say they don't like an exhaust on an auto because it doesn't have the clean sound breaks that you get with a manual, but I don't mind it, it's the people behind me that have to hear it more than me anyway and when I'm peggin it, it shifts nice and smooth and doesn't sound bad to me...

interesting, i like the idea of the manual breaks in exhaust, but this automatic sounds very tempting to me. Most of all, its the driver who could make an exhaust sound nice, with good shift points at least :P

You can make your own shift noises by shifting it throught the gears yourself. Thats what I would do if I had a auto and wanted poeple to think that I had a manual.

i really dig the way my TRD sounds on my auto xB. I also like the way my intake sounds too.
