Default Thinking of trading the tc in..

today and yesterday i was driving around locally within 50 miles or so and seeing what catches my eye.

id like to trade in my tc and came across a few things that im interested in.

05 g35x
06 g35 coupe
08 civic si
05 rx8

and for ____s and giggles i test drove a mini S today. i was very impressed but am not interested in it.

one of my best friends works at the dealership that had the rx8, and ive always been interested in them so i asked her if i could test drive it for the day bc i may be interested in it, and i got the okay and have been driving it all day since about 3pm and i have to turn it in tomorrow around 1pm.

while i was driving it tonight, i noticed that when i make a sharp turn in either direction from a stop or at like a 10 mph roll something in the rear end is jumping or grinding as if the drive train was slipping really bad or something. i cant quite put a finger on it, and then i noticed when i back up, it also does it. im confused and plan on bringing it to their attention tomorrow when i turn it back in.

anyone ever drive an rx8 and experience the same problem?

hmmm...come to think of it...i noticed when autocrossing that the some of the rx8's made weird noises on the course, but i had no idea what it was...

as car as the cars you're interested in, drop the 08 civic si. to me it is just too simliar being front engine and front wheel drive, and if you're looking for a sportier car, why make such a tiny change from a tc to a civic si? go for rear wheel drive.

as for the rx8, just stay away. they're not good cars. they burn oil, destroy their engines, get absolute crap for mpg, and have no power. i know they are rotary engines and have amazing handling, but for a daily driver, they are just too expensive and high strung.

the g35x is nice, but they only come with automatic transmissions, mightnot be a big thing for you, but a complete deal breaker in my book.

so that just leaves the g35 coupe. nothing really wrong with those.

but yea i love the si's but i mean, its not much different from the tc. i vote the mini cooper s but you said you didnt like it :/

how about a bmw 335xi? those are quick, and real nice and the service is free for like 3 years or something

you know, ive always wanted to look into bmw's but i never have because theres so many of them. the only one ive done any research on is an m3 of course, but also a 330xi, but ill take a look at the 335's..

i love the si's too but you guys are right, its not much different than the tc and i liked the mini alot, but its so small and what not and id just feel like awkward in it.

i love my tc, but i pay 350 a month for it, and for that kind of money i feel i could be in something much better and more worth it. i bought it new and have a few mods on it and i love it but in my area theres about 15000 tc i believe and everyones looks the same and im just tired of having a car everyone else has around here if you feel me.

yeah dude.. see im only being given like 12500 for my tc and i still owe 14003 on it.. so whatever the difference is gets tacked on to the car your looking at.. so with me, the g35 is 18600.. then with the extra 1500 they arent giving me itll make the loan 20100 without tax and ____..

thats why i feel so stupid, i should have known a tc wouldnt hold its value and no matter what in 2 or 3 or 4 years down the road, youll still be upside down. one of my best friends bought an 08 spec tc and it was sick and then the same dealership took a black 07 base tc and added the trd springs and the black 5 spoke trd rims to it to sell it faster, and he went in and traded his spec in on the base and now is upside down like 7grand. what a retard.

^^^^^^

Lol that makes two of us . I pay around 480 a month for it ..

I test drove a g35 coupe about two months ago i liked it but man is there some lag in going through the gears and their so heavy . After driving a new g37 s now those are much nicer they are much quicker in shifts and weight wise their better at conering . either way their both nice cars the body of the g35 coupe and the g 37 are sexy . Just dont get a civic Si if your really looking at upgrading you should go AWD or RWD .
of course just my thought

see thats the way the rx8 was.. its really laggy. like from stop if you raced an rx8 and a tc, i guarentee the tc will smoke it at the take off but as soon as the rx8 gets to about 4000rpms it'll smoke it. its weird driving it bc im use to haveing the torque of the tc and the get up and go right away but with the rx8, idk. its like a dirt bike, the rotory motor needs to be above like 3500rpms or so to be quick, until then its slow as dirt.

i havent driven a g35, but im guessing its pretty much like a 350z feel but more classier i guess? i like z's too. idk i like too many cars. way too many. i cant decide on one haha.

RS are the "expensive ones" RS stands for Release Series. the spec tc i think is the one that comes with not retractable sunroof, 16" not allow wheels, and some other things
