View Full Version : vwntvisor brand vent visors hotbox05 01-19-2005, 08:54 AM are these any good? EVILDAVE 01-19-2005, 02:12 PM Thats what I'm running. dgHotLava 01-19-2005, 02:20 PM vwntvisor brand never heard of them......lol they are so-so in my book. they have a extra crease along the bottom to increase strength. i feel it takes away from the clean lines... also their visors are thinner and crack easier than other brands.... Big_Jim 01-19-2005, 09:38 PM i dont like how on the back doors they have the tab that has to stick on the outside of the window frame. dont look so good in my book. also, it seems that every passenger side ventvisor brand that i've ever seen dont sit right. maybe its just the ones that i've seen but who knows. honestly, i'd rather have the wade visors. looking for link.......... found it.. http://www.deflectors4less.com/scion.html they also have weathertechs, but i havent seen them on a box yet. anyone have pictures or any info on the weather techs?? post up JimOUT VanillaRice 01-19-2005, 09:47 PM I just broke a 2" piece off one of mine. I rolled the window up and all the sudden I hear a crack and I look up and a big piece is just hanging there. My window somehow caught the back part of the driver side vent visor and crunched it before I knew what happened. I also don't like the way that tab on the rear windows looks. TheScionicMan 01-19-2005, 10:41 PM They all look too thin after seing the JDM ones but can't justify the price... dgHotLava 01-19-2005, 11:03 PM they also have weathertechs, but i havent seen them on a box yet. anyone have pictures or any info on the weather techs?? post up JimOUT i have them on my box, Sped has then on his too... the product page from weather tech http://www.weathertech.com/store/vehsearch.asp?item_group_id=4&make_id=66&year_no=2004&veh_id=1142&veh_opt_choice_id=0 in-channel design and clean look... hotbox05 01-20-2005, 02:37 AM the jdm ones look very strong but i sislike how they attach to the door frame. kunfuzion 01-22-2005, 12:20 AM never underestimate the power of 3M and zipties! no really, the JDM ones are strong as hell. hotbox05 01-22-2005, 02:03 AM bo i mean i dislike that they are stuck on versus in channel , i like the in channel's is all. cameracar 01-30-2005, 03:29 PM i dont like how on the back doors they have the tab that has to stick on the outside of the window frame. dont look so good in my book. also, it seems that every passenger side ventvisor brand that i've ever seen dont sit right. maybe its just the ones that i've seen but who knows. they also have weathertechs, but i havent seen them on a box yet. anyone have pictures or any info on the weather techs?? post up JimOUT I just got the weathertechs they look good, no tabs sticking out on the rear windows, and in channel design. On the front passenger door they have an impression for that little black tab on the door but the two don't match up on the passenger door (at least on my box and my friend's box the tab is lower on the passenger side). It still looks good and went on in a few minutes. dgHotLava 01-30-2005, 03:49 PM you do know that you can move that tab.... mine was high and i lowered it. i did it for someone else and theirs was low, so i moved it up.... hotbox05 01-30-2005, 06:57 PM hmm i'm looking for wade brand but theyre not too cheap , darn cameracar 01-30-2005, 09:26 PM you do know that you can move that tab.... mine was high and i lowered it. i did it for someone else and theirs was low, so i moved it up.... Just slide it??? dgHotLava 01-31-2005, 01:00 PM nope, but not hard to do. prep...make note of where the indent on the visor is (rub makr in dirt, put tape there, have friend hold finger there...) 1. take out the visor 2. pull back the weather stip from inside the channel... 3. you will see the tape on the back side of the weather strip holding the tab in place. move it so it will line up to the mark. 4. put everything back. no tools needed... cameracar 01-31-2005, 10:48 PM Kool! I'll try it right now. Thanks! dgHotLava 01-31-2005, 11:20 PM let me know how you did.... cameracar 02-01-2005, 12:28 PM Well it looks like I'll need to wait for a slighty warmer time. It's like 10 degrees in my garage and I don't want to take a chance on the shields snapping in two or three since it was recommended to install them above 50 degrees :lalala: (They're as stiff as metal right now) dgHotLava 02-01-2005, 12:34 PM yeah, don't try bending them if it too cold.... monoxide101 02-01-2005, 03:27 PM hmm i'm looking for wade brand but theyre not too cheap , darn http://www.deflectors4less.com/scwainwide.html $60 for the 4-pc set is a pretty good price. cameracar 02-01-2005, 05:08 PM It looks to me that the Wade deflectors stop at the top of the mirror on the front doors, while the WeatherTechs go all the way down to the dew wiper. I guess that extra 5 inches is where the $40 difference is? :eyebrow: But I like both styles, I just perfered the WeatherTech more. Now to move the nub. cameracar 02-06-2005, 02:52 AM let me know how you did.... Got it done! Pics to come. Thanks for the info! dgHotLava 02-06-2005, 03:00 AM sweet.... 8) Mjj770 02-14-2005, 03:06 AM I purchased the Wade wind visors and I am happy with the look. They run the entire length of the channel. EASY Intstall!!! Fujiz_xb 02-14-2005, 02:17 PM i like the e`sams better IMO |
