weekend work (tires, camber, grill, Celica seats)
this weekend I finally got around to working on my car.
Saturday
I put on some Falken 452 215/40/18 to replace my Falken Ziex 512 225/40/18 (front tires only). As a result my I got alittle more stretch and little more wheel gap (zero gap before, now around .75 finger gap).

Dont let the photo fool you. the wheel doesnt stick out that much. this photo was zoomed in alot.
Sunday
I then adjusted my camber using a $20 Ebay camber gauge. Last week I got an alignment showing my front driver wheel was -.9, while my front passenger was -.1. I attached this to the rotor (via the magnet on the guage) and adjusted the camber plates on my Tein SSPs until the air bubble moved about .4 degrees. Its not super accurate, but its better than a super accurate $300 digital camber gauge. I took it back to the alignment shop (I bought the lifetime alignment from Firestone) and now its -.6. Soon I'm gonna adjust it another .5 degrees and go back for another alignment. I also need to drop the coilovers alittle more to kill the wheel gap. Adusting the camber messed up my toe settings (steering wheel was crooked), so you need an alignment afterwards. This tool is good for anyone with adjustable camber plates and free alignment LOL.

Monday (today)
Installed a 08+ lower grill. I like the 2 thick horizontal bars. they make the tC look alittle wider and lower (from far away LOL). I've been thinking of putting white vinyl (rather than painting) or chrome door trim over the 2 thick bars. what do you think?

Last week I bought 3 Celica seats (long story). CSOCSO's install guide (https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...=asc&&start=80) says one of the rear bolts is tricky to drill/install since the tC's floor isnt flat at the part. So today I pulled out my passenger tC seat and compared it to one of my Celica driver's seats. I'm gonna drill out the rivets holding the bracket to the rail and swap them (reattach with bolts/nuts or rivet gun). Hopefully that'll save me from drilling new holes into the tC's floor.

I used the wood block to increase clearance for the jack. My panda hood is the background.
Here's a quick lesson on Celica seats.
Mechanically the GT (base model) and GTS seats are the same. Leather is optional on both, but more commonly found in the GTS. GTS cloth seats come with a alacantra/suede-like material in the centers, which hold you to the seat well (you dont slip and slide around). Real alacantra is ballin', but it quickly wears out with daily use (think of old socks that get thin/see-through over time). GT seats come with a mesh type material similar tC, but different weave. GTS seats typically come in 2 tone (black and red/gray/blue). GT seats are typically 1 color. On both models the bolster/shoulder fabric is slightly different from the rest of the fabric.

GTS seats I picked up shortly after buying the GT seat

I plan on installing the GTS seats. Updates as they come. Right now I really need a car wash.
