Hi all ive definitely been dormant for a while, but as always I come back home. I have installed new rotors and brakes on my first gen Xb. EBC USR rotors and EBC Green stuff brakes. I drove my box around gently for the first 5 days, and then today going down hill my brakes got hot (im assuming) and they smelled like something was burning, along with that the brake fade (brakes weren't working because they are hot) was insane, i had trouble bringing my car to a stop. Now the hill was roughly 1 mile long, 10 percent grade,and i was traveling at traveling at 20mph. other than that they have been great! minimal dust and no squeaking that I cant tell. driven aprox. 70 miles. Install went great and was done to spec.

So on to my questions,

does anyone have experience with these brakes and is this smell normal?

Will this be my limited threshold for brake fade? (will I be able to push them harder later?)

I also have a brown coating on my rotors is this normal?

And did i possibly do something wrong? (ie bed it wrong?)
