Default RS6 / F900BT Owners..

Has anyone successfully bypassed the parking break? I tried both the hardware and software bypasses from www.avic411.com but neither have worked. I tapped into the cigarrete lighter ground to ground the parking break along with loading the software fix with no luck. So has anyone else got theirs to work and if so how?!?!

I did the hardware bypass and it worked fine. Did you move the mute wire? Also, I tapped into the main ground for the unit.

I first did the software mod which didn't work. Then I did the hardware mod moving the mute wire to the 4th pin and then grounding both on a ground by the hood release. Then I moved it to ground it with the cigarrette lighter. Nothing so far has worked. You splice both the moved mute wire and the parking break wire together with whatever ground right? And when you tapped into the main ground, did you take apart all the tape and padding the factory put over that cause not much of that ground is exposed right now. Thanks for the help. This is so frustrating my Kendwood DNX was soooo much easier.

I moved the mute wire and grounded both wires to the main ground for the unit. I stripped away part of caseing, soldered both wires to the ground, and covered them with shrink tube. Maybe try to re-load the factory firmware. There might have been some kind of error when the software mod was done.

I know what you mean about the kenwoods. I am swiching up to the 9140 in a few weeks.

I finally got mine bypassed. The "light green wire" was red with a white stripe on my harness for some reason. The light green was the vehicle speed sensor.

Anyway, after we figured that out, it was a piece of cake.
