ShaunTC 01-20-2005, 11:56 PM Here they are. I haven't even had a chance to wash my hands yet. It took a buch of cutting but it came out okay.

djaaronp 01-21-2005, 12:03 AM VERY NICE!!!! And there is still a little room for air travel in there.
SWEET JOB MAN!!!
Do you happen to have any pics of how much of the bumper you cut out? (meaning, a pic w/o the light installed but after you cut the bumper)
PunkInDrublic 01-21-2005, 12:03 AM Wow, looks amazing, how much cutting did you have to do?
OutCrnrU 01-21-2005, 12:04 AM could you please post detailed ainstructions and what exactly needed to be cut, i know a bunch of pepole want them
Otocan 01-21-2005, 12:08 AM omg that is frickedy schweet it's probably the best set of fogs I've seen yet. The stock fogs are just not there.... who puts fogs in the lower grill? I mean really....?
do they have their own switch or did you wire them through the low-beams? what did you mean by "it took a lot of cutting" ? they look like they were designed to be there. I've seen way too many aftermarket fogs that just don't do it because they all look like they were just slapped on there for no reason.
congrats on the install, I think I found my fogs
BlueBox 01-21-2005, 12:09 AM Great mod!!!
maybe u can use some carbon fiber or fiber glass to fill in the gap. It will look stock ... nice job...much props!
Munch 01-21-2005, 12:09 AM That is sweet 8) . Props to you for being original
ShaunTC 01-21-2005, 12:20 AM do they have their own switch or did you wire them through the low-beams? what did you mean by "it took a lot of cutting" ?
I wired them to their own switch. I'm still trying to think of a good place to run the power so they will shut off when i turn the car off. I had to cut almost the whole vent out of the bumper from the back side. Then i had a friend that builds hotrods help me 'glass the housings in. The lens fits nice, but the housing was way to big. Thanks for all the comments and praise!
bashar05 01-21-2005, 12:23 AM DAMN NICE !!
fits in the space perfectly. It looks as if theyre factory lamps.
hahaitzskippy 01-21-2005, 12:27 AM lets do a comparsion post... so anyone with
STOCK FOG LIGHTS. SHOW YOURSELF.
still deciding between the IS300 or the STOCK fog lights
r1mirostc 01-21-2005, 12:28 AM thats pretty nice man...i think im goin to steal some is300 foglights now...jk
ProjectD 01-21-2005, 12:30 AM HOLY CRAP!
nycazn79 01-21-2005, 12:41 AM Looks pretty good.......what size bulb does the IS300 fogs use? The stock ones use a 9006.
aarontrini85 01-21-2005, 12:58 AM damn i want that
maximus96 01-21-2005, 01:06 AM  please. i beg for more pictures of the install inself.
Gambit7 01-21-2005, 01:27 AM bump
RockstEdy 01-21-2005, 01:29 AM Woo....that really looks like if belongs there. Great job!!
ShaunTC 01-21-2005, 01:55 AM I didn't take any pics of the install itself. Sorry... I barely have any time at all to work on my car, so when i get a chance i have to do it as quick as I can. Plus, my camera was at my house and I was working at my friends garage. There really isn't that much to this install though. It's just like a typical fog light install but you have to cut the holes out a little bit. If someone would post or email me a pic of the back of the bumper I will show what needs to be cut. Anyways, here are a few night pics.....

**one last thing- the is300 bulb is a 9600. Don't use white or blue tint or the yellow will cause it to look crazy (I read that on www.is300.net)**
purpled_out_tC 01-21-2005, 02:46 AM So if you can't use those three which do you use? Did I read it wrong?
idriveatC 01-21-2005, 02:54 AM Are you going to take them out and try to see how it looks when they are switched?
BTW NICE JOB! I dont have to wait to install mine now. Thanks

ShaunTC 01-21-2005, 03:50 AM So if you can't use those three which do you use? Did I read it wrong?
Sorry, i explained wrong. You don't want to use a hyper white or a blue-ish light or it will react with the yellow projector in the fog light. You want a plain halogen 9006. Sorry to confuse...
TurboTC 01-21-2005, 04:34 AM Looks good
twoface 01-21-2005, 04:42 AM simply beautiful, you had a nice setup between the friend at the dealership and the hot rod guy to complete this project .. i tip my hat to you
sciontc_mich 01-21-2005, 06:40 AM   me likey!! awesome job!! that's great !!
now scion?? if you're listening.. give us REAL FOG LIGHTS not some joke that goes in a grille where they're not supposed to be!! this post is what fog lights are SUPPOSED TO look like.. :D
congrats !! they look great!

You can get IS fogs from Japan that do not have the yellow lens-
kacosta 01-21-2005, 05:22 PM the factory fog lights look just like the matrix setup (for those who have not seen) you did a very nice job and they look much better than factory !!!!
ShaunTC 01-21-2005, 05:29 PM You can get IS fogs from Japan that do not have the yellow lens-
Yeah but they are like $400 shipped where i found them. Since you already have to open the housings to flip the cut-off shield, you can sand the yellow off of the projector. I found the instructions some where on how to do it, but i kinda like the yellow and it is the best color for functional fog lights.

I like the yellow too- at night you just know it is a Lexus....you can also take the lens off a RX300 and switch it with the yellow lens.
some people take the yellow lens off and just do not have a lens....that ruins 99% of the directional lighing that the fogs give you....bad idea
WagenMaster 01-21-2005, 06:41 PM Props for being the first.
I'd like to see some daytime pics, to see how they look on the car as a whole....
Got any?
Mx6GT91 01-21-2005, 06:44 PM WOW!!!! Nice work!!!!
Very glade you went through the troble and rotated the cut-off shield. As you can tell there working perfect. In those pics of the light quality the tags of your neighbors arent reflecting much. Thats how you know there working
B.E.A.utiful!!!!!
I was thinking about doing this but cutting the bumper is something my parents wont let me do. hehe
ShaunTC 01-21-2005, 07:12 PM Props for being the first.

I don't have any daytime pics yet. By the time i get home it is already dark. But tomorrow i will bring my camera with me to work, snap a few pics and post them when i get home tomorrow night.
WagenMaster 01-21-2005, 07:47 PM Sounds great
ScionTCTrav 01-21-2005, 09:33 PM Nice..U gotta let us know how to do that!!
Cutting?!
maximus96 01-21-2005, 09:40 PM did you have to take the bumper off for the install?
hahajoey 01-21-2005, 09:45 PM is it just me, or are the IS300 foglights UPSIDE DOWN?
and if they are,(which i hope its just my wrong thinking),
wont the cutoff be backwards and all kinds of glare be hitting on coming traffic?

They are upside down, but he switched the cut-off shield so it points down.....I'm just not sure how he did this-
maximus96 01-21-2005, 10:20 PM read thru the other IS300 foglight thread for all the info.

Okay, got it. By the way NICE  . That's exactly what I wanted to do when I saw the holes there.
Enkidu 01-22-2005, 02:14 AM That's Hot!™
lriicelboy 01-22-2005, 03:15 AM post a tech article!! puhleaze!!!!!
Veery nice work there! That's how the stock tC fogs should look, Scion should take notes...
selectivebeef 01-22-2005, 07:34 AM really nice and clean custom job.
TCAV8R 01-22-2005, 09:00 AM Looks awesome. I don't see where the bumper was cut.
So now that this has been done soon someone will post a very good DIY thread. Hurry up already. I may have to shrink the wallet again for those.
smash 01-22-2005, 08:05 PM I concur- looks very nice. I always thought from day 1 that's where Scion was going to put any optional foglights on the tc.. not in the middle of the damn bumper, where they look retarded IMO.

ProjectD 01-30-2005, 01:47 AM Got my IS fogs here in my room. Still thinking of a way to mount them though.
I think it looks awesome, I have the factory ground effects so unless I do some cutting this option won't be for me...
TcBoi1 02-01-2005, 05:48 PM hey does ne one kno what the bulb # is for the factory Fog Lights?¿
wascionTC 02-01-2005, 07:47 PM does any one know how to wire them did they buy a kit from lexus tpo plug right in?
Snowfox 04-21-2005, 06:09 AM -BUMP-
This is a topic I've been tracking for a while, because it's simply one of the coolest and most original mods I've seen yet.
I heard that the IS300 sportback's lights fit much better; can anyone confirm this?
Shadow_tC 04-21-2005, 06:19 AM Thank God you found this! *MUAH!* I've been a lazy ___ and haven't gone down to the parts yard to go get mine. lol. Maybe I should do that.

Snowfox 04-21-2005, 06:36 AM I just searched "IS300 fog lights" :D
Searching Ebay for a pic of the Sportback's lights.
ProjectD 04-21-2005, 06:41 AM been there, done that............
Shadow_tC 04-21-2005, 06:51 AM Use this new search engine my friend told me about.

This thing is awesome. It will find you whatever you want in a matter of seconds. Pictures, movies, articles, anything.

Snowfox 04-21-2005, 07:45 AM been there, done that............
...from the sportcross? Do you have any pics?
By the way, no luck finding any on Ebay, and for those from the sedan, they were like $165. No... way.
I wish you could push them far back in a little!
I think they are too out, need to push back inside a little bit, looks weird to me :P
RWDtC 04-21-2005, 11:02 AM wow it sucks that you wrecked it. how did that happen?
That looks awsome man, nice job. Very very bright!!
ProjectD 04-21-2005, 11:34 AM wow it sucks that you wrecked it. how did that happen?
I guess to each his own.....:blah:
I had the lights originally tucked in like ShaunTC's but whenever I would look at the car from head on, it just didn't look right. So I decided to make the lights flush with openings in the vents. As a result, it turned out to look a lot better than before, even if it does stick out a bit.
Yeah it aint that big a deal, theres ways to fix it. But its a nice start! :)

No i didn't mean the fog lights they look great but from what I read on the IS forum it appears his car was in a wreck.
I'm not sure if my car is totaled yet or not. I'm dealing with the insurance right now. In arkansas the law is 70% of the value. Also, AR requires insurance companies to pay a diminished value to cover what $ i would lose by trying to sell a wrecked car. Soo.... add the damage to the diminished value figure and it should be above 70%. But either way is fine, I either get my car fixed and a couple grand, or a new car. BTW some of you on this site are _______s. Thanks to those who are open minded enough not to think any car other than an IS is "a piece of ____"........
http://www.is300.net/forums/showthread.php?t=238634&page=2&pp=30
and I agree lots of those guys on the IS forums are _______s they seem to forget that thier lexus like a scion is a Toyota from the way some of those spoiled asswipes talk you'd think they were driving Aston Martins.
ProjectD 04-21-2005, 11:43 AM OOPS my bad, just thought you were referring to mine because it looked like you were adding into what the guy above you said.
Gmoney 04-21-2005, 12:14 PM isnt there a JDM version of these lights? i dont like the yellow lights. do they have white?
Satmax 04-21-2005, 01:18 PM omg that is frickedy schweet it's probably the best set of fogs I've seen yet. The stock fogs are just not there.... who puts fogs in the lower grill? I mean really....?
1985 - early 90's Camaro IROCs and Z28s are the only cars I can really think of that put their fogs in the lower grill...
As far as this fog installation, I have to give serious props. Just freakin' cool how they fit so nice, and the funny part of the fog lights not big enough to cover the entire inlet, leaves a cool looking inlet anyway. AWESOME!
maximus96 04-21-2005, 06:42 PM isnt there a JDM version of these lights? i dont like the yellow lights. do they have white?
look on ebay, they're close to $200 for a pair
cadaver 04-21-2005, 07:29 PM good job, smooth outcome, nice work
bOhEmIo82 04-21-2005, 08:24 PM WOW! That looks really good. You should offer this as a service to TC owners, and make some extra cash on the side.
NVS_TC 04-25-2005, 06:30 AM I got my Fogs for $80 bucks! I just finished my install and I have a couple pictures my friend took.. I dont have them yet. And the fogs arent operational yet, I still need the connectors and hook them up.
I kinda messed up on the driver side cut, but im gonna make it flow like it belongs there. I'll have pictures up once I get them to work.
Snowfox 04-25-2005, 06:35 PM Where'd you buy the fogs at, and what was included?
Post pics ASAP; I'd like to see them on other tCs, too.
bOhEmIo82 04-26-2005, 08:42 PM Yes please post pics. Are they "HELLA" fogs by any chance? I know they are offered for about that much.
Greg2385 04-26-2005, 08:46 PM Wow... looks great, nice pics :)
I don't really like how the stock fog lights are not directly underneath the headlights. It looks a littler weird how they're a little closer together.
Black_RSX 04-26-2005, 09:14 PM Very nice!! Looks great!!
kwc5811 04-29-2005, 05:12 PM Bump! Pics?

optional 01-01-2006, 11:20 PM Wow had this not been revived out of complete randomness I would have never thought this possible! Very cool, great work by the OP. Too bad his car got totaled through a rear-ending (saw the pics othe is300.net forums); by the way they were dogging him for doing it you'd think it was one of them in their 2nd car who rear ended him just out of spite or something, those guys have a bad attitude :nope:
Sam_J84 01-02-2006, 12:16 AM nice, fit perfect huh?
maximus96 01-02-2006, 02:41 AM nice, fit perfect huh?

Tito_Cruz 01-07-2006, 10:15 PM someone should to a tech on this huh?
kcautotc 03-23-2006, 09:14 AM can anyone go in depth on wiring the fogs? im sure it would start with the rocker switches, but what connecting and power supply? i know it sounds easy but i want to see how you guys that have done this did it?
XpLoSiVeTC 03-23-2006, 11:53 PM looking clean..... :silly:

anyone know if you can get the foglights with wires, like replacement systems?

Actually, the car was fixed and I drove it until January 31 when i bought one of these-
http://www.insidetracknews.com/blog/sw-2006-Civic-Si-01.jpg
I did the fogs first, but ProjectD has done a much better and more detailed job of explaining how he did it.......If i were you guys I would hit him up for a tech article.....hint hint....... :lalala:
kcautotc 03-25-2006, 06:19 AM oh and thanks a lot for taking the time to get that detailed.
i didnt want you to think that i didnt appreciate that.
its sure a hell of a lot better than the answer i thought id get!
"dude, you wire the lights to a relay, then a switch, then a light, and your battery, duh."
oh, and if i didnt want the light, it would work fine if i just canceled it out? thanks
dskinner 03-25-2006, 06:23 AM They look awsome. Personally, I like them more than the factory units!
ddsboi 03-25-2006, 06:31 AM me too, but the install is wat discourages me a bit
