xm radio issues
so over the last couple months my xm/siri radio (possible headunit?) has started to have issues.
i will be driving along, and next thing i know, the xm starts fading in and out for about 10 seconds, then just goes mute! i can change channels and see the names of songs etc.. just no sound!!!
i switch over to regular radio and it works just fine! switch over to cd player, that too, works just fine!
i can't get the xm to have sound again until i turn the car all the way off and turn it back on. wtf?!?!
anyone else having issues like this?
it has started to happen more frequently lately... guess a trip to the dealership will ensue.

It sounds like either the tuner is going bad or the antenna for your xm is. Your xm antenna is still in the oem location?(outside on the roof)
I see this alot when the antenna gets moved...usually when the owner puts the antenna inside the car on the dash or rear window, then the tuner just gets a bad signal when driving away from the satellite in the sky, xm are in the southern sky and siri in the north...xm does use ground repeaters to help improve signal under bridges etc.hope this helps!
