About 3-4 months ago my brother showed me www.scion.com i immediately fell in love with the xB. I have been contemplating getting one ever since. Reading these forums and seeing what you guys have done to your cars have made me want one for sure. Im about to make a trip to the dealership and im wondering if there is any special things i should ask them about ( that the dealers normally wouldnt tell you about.) I figured this would be a good place to get advice because i know that some of you work at the dealerships. Any input?
thanks,
- Chris

Not really. Print out your quote from the website, then tell them that's what you want. No more, no less. There's nothing to negotiate about.

Depends if they have any on hand :P If not, it shouldn't take long for the to get you one, especially since you live in CA :)

Make sure you go in knowing what you want, and how much it costs. Better to have too much info, rather then not enough.

Im not sure what color you like, but go see them in person. The camo is an awsome color and its hard to see in pics. I wanted the black but when i seen the camo... I wanted it. But no regrets got a Grey one instead.

What they /\ said. I had ordered a black cherry red because i liked the way it looked on the site, but when i saw one at the car lot it looked just plain purple to me. So I changed to the black.

All good advice. Especially about the color. They are all so different in person. I wanted thundercloud really bad, and ended up getting the camo and I love it.
If you find a good dealer, they won't be "hiding" anything. I use the other technique with my customers...information overload! Most Scion customers are really cool to begin with, and the fact that they know the product as well as I do makes it for a really pleasant and hassle free purchasing experiance!
I have no idea where Ventura is, but if it's anywhere near El Monte you need to give Verone at Longo a ring. If it's anywhere near San Diego, I'd be happy to help you out. Regardless, if there's any questions you need answered from a dealer stand point, I'm happy to help!

See man that's why I luv this forum....drew if all us Scion guys were like you and V man Toyota wouldn't know what to do with it's self....If you live in Cali and are anywhere close to these two guys you have to look them up...both of them have been a great help to me, and I'm on the other side of the country...they didn't have to...but like so many others here they are all about helping people...man you guy are great...now if I could only get V to lend me half his inventory.....

Jay, you're too humble man. You're just as plugged in as any of us in Cali, you just haven't gotten your cars yet. Soon though...you'll be rockin it!

Cman, the purchase is pretty simple and straightforward. They even offer great interest rates on the Scions. Are you going to buy any of the mods that the dealer offers?

im planning on getting just the regular scion. not really any mods. standard transmission for sure. are there any mods worth getting straight from the dealership?
and Ventura is just south of santa barbara. kinda far from san diego. 3 hours or so. dont know where Longo is or whatever. forget the name....

Not really. Everything you can get on it from the dealer you can get in the aftermarket for much less. That includes OEM stuff.

Know your credit score. That will help you in negotiating. Scion financing is high.
I can get 5.5, they offer 7, average. I'm getting 4.85 with no down payment. It's all about the numbers, and know what you are worth.
If you have a trade-in, know what is worth. Watch out with the used car sales man, he'll try to chump you. But be reasonable.

The mods worth getting from the dealer are the ones your parents will allow to be in the financing and that you don't have the cash for buying yourself, hehe.
