If a tC was on there u would be ____ed as much as we are. I can understand the Aztek, Pt Cruiser, Multipa (DOWN RIGHT UGLY), Element. But the xB, H2, Avalanche (ok) and the Tribeca (ok too)? Those cars are tight. Tem f'ers probably drive Hyundais, Kias, Daewoos, and Daewookis. We should have the worlds ugliest car post on here and add the tC. (just kidding) But still that's messed up. We all know square is better than round.

It is funny because Time magazine ranked the xB as one of the top 6 sexiest cars available. It also listed a Maseratti, new Corvette, new Mustang, and a convertible Mini. Just food for thought.

I wasn't attacking the xB as being ugly, what I was trying to imply was, that people can say what ever they want, we just chose not to listen to there criticism. I personally like them alot, I was going to purchase one before the release of the tC.

the funny part is all of those vehicles that r high up are very popular vehicles regardless. so what they think doesn't matter. although i do agree w/ the aztec though.

I'll be 56 February 1st, and I absolutely enjoy my XB to the hilt. It has tons of passenger room and it is a very stable platform. Of course I would like more storage space and a little more acceleration for entry onto interstates, but I can work around it and have for several months. Besides, it it like most have said..its all a matter of personal taste. Take care everyone.

The stuff on the ugly list tends to be distinctive. Something distinctive is likely to make both the ugly and the sexy list, especially if the basic shape is fairly simple. If there was only one model of low sports car, that model also would make both lists.

This is pretty typical when a "new design" comes out.When my Grandparents bought there first \X/ bug in 1956 at Percision Motors in Beverly Hills California,most of the bigger cars with tail fins,bumpers as big as houses,longer then boats yada yada yada couldn't stand the round thing on four wheels,and guess what.....the VW Bug outsold the record for production vehicles surpassing Henry Fords Model T and Model A.Think inside the box people!!!

I was walking out of the grocery store today and 2 guys that worked there were walking ahead of me going to change the specials sign. When they went by my XB one of them told the other I don't like those cars but I like that one. When I left the parking lot he waved at me like a kid waving at Santa in a Christmas parade. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They aren't very pretty when they are plain but a little work and they just shine.

I find it funny that the Tribeca looks very close to an RX 330 which is a very pretty a popular car. Obviously these people just don't like boxy cars whichis where new trends are headed.

I like them all. If money were not a restriction I would like to have the xB, the xA and the tC. All of them nice rides.

Also, I had the oportunity to test drive a Pontiac G6, and when I sat inside the car.... that was boring and cheap looking.

Our scions are way better that many entry level wannabes.

The biggest thing is the fact that other people are quick to condemn and ridicule the people who are the first to get with the next new thing. sometimes the next new thing dies out and they can say "I told you so". sometimes it becomes the next Big thing and they end up with their foot in thier mouth when they go out and buy the 5th generation. Im proud of my taste.

Life magazinerated it as one of the ten Sexiest cars of the year.

For it unique styling!

I guess If I made an ugly car list, it would include:

BMW Z4, 7, 5, 8 and upcoming 3 -- because Beemers used to look tight but now they look bloated and frivolous

Impala, Monte Carlo and Malibu -- ugly and boring at the same time

Chrysler M300 -- a squatty brick shoving a huge chrome grill

Dodge Magnum -- removing the chrome doesn't help, and they're in denial about it being a station wagon

Cadillac Escalade -- like a 300 lb drag queen

Nissan Murano, Quest, Maxima -- there's a difference between bold designs and bold designs that work

Infinity FX -- like a steel-toed running shoe

Toyota MR2 -- another car where the front and rear were designed by different committees

Mazda RX8 -- because the last RX7 was so beautiful

Porsche Boxter and Cayenne -- cars that cost this much should look three times better

And, of course, the Pontiac Aztek -- someone should have pulled the plug on this pig as soon as it became clear the show car didn't translate into production

I don't think the H2 is ugly... most i've seen are very impressive looking, especially in black.

The folks who consider the xB ugly are looking at it from the wrong point of view. When I'm sitting inside enjoying the room and visibility I could care less about how the outside looks! it's a tool, not a fashion statement! :)

IMO, the only ugly cars in that list are the Aztec and the Avalanche. The rest are unique, but not ugly.

But then again the demographics of Car Talk are no different than here. And except for the fact that the xB is on that list many members of this forum would agree with their opinion of "cool" cars and which are "ugly". Just look at the "all other vehicles" section of this forum and you'll find people thumbing their nose at cars that probably have a small devoted following too.

I can see where the xB is on that list. For most people, they feel "safe" with cars that look similar to others, and that have been proclaimed "cool" by their peers. The xB doesn't have a "safe" look.... it is edgey and way out of the norm. That scares people... they don't know how to deal with it. When you have a bold car like an xB or Cooper, you have to be comfortable with and strong in who you are. Most people are not.

I'll bet that if we could look at the entire list, we'd find the Matrix and Cooper on there too. I suspect that any vehicle that doesn't fit into the Corolla, Camry, Accord mold would be deemed ugly.

hahahaha that is funny, that guy prolly made up that website, has no life except to make fun of cars he wished he could afford.... be probally drives a 1989 civic si with 200,000 miles, not that is could last that long, and posts his opinions.... that is all that is, and the h2 is ugly, he posted a pic of the hummer sut not the h2.. the sut in my OPINION is ugly..... lol.... but anyways i needed a good laugh.... half the cars on that site are boxy and the others arent released in the states yet./..............hes a winner :loser: lol gotta love the smilies...........

Ugh, new Nissans are so rancidly ugly. The Maxima used to be a hot car.

I agree on the Aztec, that is one ugly beast.

But the xB? Come on. Even the pic they chose for that article shows how sleak, simple and dynamic the xB is. The more I see xBs, the more I like how they look. It's usually the other way around.

The people that compiled this pointless list obviously drive the HUMMER ME-TOO or some other type of SUV. Speed bumps at the mall - that's about all the "off-roading" they'll ever see.
