Default I got a hold of rs3.0 seeats but I have a couple questions

Hi everyone I searched for hours but I couldn't find an answer.I have a 08 TC and I actually picked up some rs3.0 seats. The problem is I don't think the rs3.0 seats have the airbags, which I don't want to lose. So can someone tell me if it would be possible to remove the rs3 skins and replace my original covers with the rs3's. Or should I just sell the rs3 seats to get some clazzio's or katskinz?

not 100% sure..but i think with a few modifications you can fit an rs 3.0 seat cover over your 08's..havent heard of anyone doing it yet..and i know that the 08 models are different, give it a try if you want man.

The seats look almost identical. The only think I'm worried about is the airbag being able to deploy with the new cover on.

the airbag will rip right through the fabric if it deploys.

I removed the driver seat cover but a strip of fabric goes through where the airbag is located. I'm sure I could cut the fabric but was just curious if anyone was familiar with it.

Pics? It could help us figure out if it serves a purpose or if it can be snipped without affecting the airbags

pretty sure the fabric is the airbag anchor,do not cut it.........I do not have access to the repair manual anymore........maybe Ack or yellow hoodie or another person who does can look at the diagram........

you could do the resistor install and mount your seat posistion sensors tothe RS3 seats but that is a bit of work, takes a good 5 hours and two people makes is easier to do.

My camera is dead at the moment. I don't know if it is the anchor because it is threaded through the small slit in the foam, through the frame of the seat then just sewn back to the seat cover. I was thinking as long as it still makes a complete loop that it should be fine. Then I could sew the complete loop back the new rs3 covers.

that is apossibility.....I think it is the anchor cause if you ever pulled off the headliner in the car and the pillars you will see the white material bolted tothe pillars that goes tot he bags,so I am bettgin the seats have the same thing, probably they do it like that for assembly ease at the factory.
