Default 100, 000 miles service

I tried searching, so I apologize if someone asked this, but my 2005 Scion tC has undergone the usual oil changes at 5,000 miles, air filter change, tire change, brake pads, but nothing else. I had the 30k and 60k checkups at the dealer which seemed pretty bogus since they tell you some recommended things to get done, but don't actually do anything. I'm on 96k miles and thinking that the trasmission should be flushed and timing belt changed based on the last assessment at 60k, and just some from ppl talking about cars. Is there anything else I should get checked or done around this time? Thanks a bunch!

Heya,

Definitely go ahead and do the transmission flush. It is extremely easy using the Tech guide on this site. essentially, it is the same as changing your motor oil, just drain, flush, and refill.

I would also recommend checking your struts and springs for wear and tear as well as the CV joints.

Well if it is an automatic the tranny should be flushed about every 25000,oil every 3-5000 depending on driving, brakes as needed, antifreeze I do every other year no matter what,it does get bad, power steering fluid ever other year, keep AC condensor clean, battery change it out every 4 years just to avoid the hassles that come with dead battery in the middle of nowhere.

I refused my 15000 service because there was nothing for them to do and I would not pay $280 for it,now if they changed the oil, tranny fluid, flushed the brakes and adjusted, changed my radiator fluid then maybe I would think about it.

As long as you do not hammer on your car and keep the fluids maintained it will drive and drive for hundreds of thousands of miles with no problems.
