should i trade for a bugyeye wrx?
im not sure if this would really be a upgrade, but ive been thinking about trading for a '02 wrx thats all black and stock with 100,000 miles for my '07 tC with 50,000 miles thats also allso black. i dont know what i could get for my tC if i sold it but i could get the wrx for like 8 or 9 grand. i think the wrx is a second faster in the 0-60mph run. what do you guys/girls think the pro's and con's would be? should i do it?
well i didnt mean trade outright, realistically i think i could get like 11,000 max for my car and buy the subie for maybe 8,000, then put the rest into getting it up to speed on maintenence and parts. i dont think it wasa driven to hard because its still stock and its from a girl that wasnt really into the tuner thing too much. also it seems hard to find a nice subie for like 10,000-12,000. STI's are out of my range and i really like the bugeye's more than the generation that came after that. also the like '07 wrx and newer ones are like 17,000 for a nice one. also, i will have to pay like a grand in taxes for a car purchase(florida sucks!). so i guess a bugeye is my best option even though they are not really that much faster like the new ones.
i guess i will probably just keep the tC even though im gonna drop 3 g's on it to get it where i want it, thats why i was just thinking maybe i should just get a rex.

yea, I just think personally you should try to sell it for more.
check around your area and you'll see what I mean. If people are trying to sell thiers for 16k, post yours up for 14 and sell it easily.
that's all I'm saying.

I would advise you to keep on looking. Even if it looks good that's a decent amount of miles it has. Check autotrader I found a 2005 STI that was salvage but fully rebuilt with only 10,400 and only needed a radio and other small things. You can do way better than that 02 bugeye keep looking. If your in the ORL metro area I counted 10 that are for sale all clean and well kept.
A friend of mine had an 02 WRX. He never raced it or beat on it, but the transaxle went out on him. Subaru didn't want to cover it so he had to get it fixed out of his own pocket.
I'd much rather get the 2.5 RS coupe and build that up.

hmm i don't think it's worth it, but if you do buy a car off of someone you could lie and say it was a gift and sold to you for like $1 so you barely have to pay anything in taxes, i know a few ppl around here who have done that
I think you need to be more specific in what you want to do with it.
You wanna keep it the way it is? You ask any Subaru junkie, and I've known a few, and they'll tell you straight up that stock Subaru's will last until hell freezes over. 100K on a stock Scooby is a young adult.
You planning on modding it? That's a different story. When you start modding an AWD car it makes it tough to drive slow. A WRX with substantial mods at 100K and you may go 30K before something breaks.
Buddy of mine had an '01 WRX (first year for the bugeye) and substantially modded it. You can do a few cosmetic mods to it (swap the grille out, foglight covers, buy the Morrette headlights) to make up for it being one of the downright ugliest cars in existence. And it'll go from ugly to mean looking. The problem is that it doesn't have a high HP tranny and will require some beef if you plan to go faster. And the stock turbo is easily maxed out with an exhaust, a unichip, and some supporting mods.
The WRX isn't a sexy car by any stretch of the imagination and the fit and finish and fake carbon fiber in the interior won't blow you away either. But up the boost, free up the exhaust and you'll be hard to touch from light to light.

Trading in your car with lower miles for a car with higher miles for a DD is not a good decision.
If it was a second car that you are getting a good deal on, then it wouldn't matter. But trading, I would suggest against.
