The Scion Speed turbo systems testing are now complete and are now in production stages.

Scion Speed only utilizes the highest quality components and materials, to produce a trouble free and reliable system, resulting in the highest output turbo systems available on the market period. Unlike most kits on the market, our systems include a Billet blow off valve, Billet external wastegate, an oil pan with oil drain fittings, plug and play harness for electronics, and a comprehensive instruction manual with detailed pictures. So there is no welding or ECU wiring involved, just a straight forward high quality bolt on installation, which also boasts show quality looks.

We are now taking pre-orders at a reduced price until March 1, after which pricing will revert to MSRP. We will begin preorder delivery starting mid March, on a first come first serve basis. Note: Our previous level 3 systems are now offered as a level 2 system, and we now offer an upgraded stage 3 system. MSRP and Pre-order pricing are as follows:

Im getting a Stage 1 w/o intercooler..and Im gonna upgrade later on..

Yeah its a lil' expensive..But U gotta understand this isnt a small Mitsu Turbo, or 16G turbo..This is a T3 Turbo..If U wanna go cheap then go cheap and get a small dinky turbo. hehe..

I think buying the stage one and then getting upgrade kits from them is the best option... or maybe not, you might end up paying more in the long run but the power is worth it, IMO.

wait what about all the problems el protoype has been having while testing there with the rods... No problems found here? I dont see how one company has problems but the other doesnt when it comes to stock internals.

Are the hp/tq numbers provided to the wheels or flywheel? Any dynos? What's the PSI running in each stage?

Gonna get flamed for having an AT, but will their system (At least stage 1) be compatible with the AT transmission?

I don't think ScionTCTrav works for them so it might be pointless to post here. But I may be wrong

I can get a T3 for $500. How much would the kit cost, sans the turbo?

01-24-2005, 11:04 PM
Which engine/platform will it be for?

I don't drive stick, I know it would be better for racing and speed and stuff like that, but personally driving stick is just to much multi tasking for me :relief: will the turbo still work with an automatic transmission?

I'm sure this question was already asked, but I don't really know anything about cars, and it was probably worded so my dumbass couoldn't understand it.

Maybe that tells you something about their kit and it's quality.

I just recieved an email from scionspeed saying that they will have a complete component list out soon, so that will clear up the exact differences between the kits. I really like how they include an oil pan with fittings. When doing a turbo kit install on my friend's '02 civic we had to drill the oil pan and that was a big pain in the ___.

how much for intercooler kit? The intercooler kit is not available as yet and pricing has not been set, will be released after first couple of kits go out.

wait what about all the problems el protoype has been having while testing there with the rods... No problems found here? I dont see how one company has problems but the other doesnt when it comes to stock internals. Our kit is for the Scion tC, not the Scion xA. After extensive testing the tC engine was found to be very stout. Even the Toyota open deck design of the block was found to be far superior to Honda's design in strength.

Are the hp/tq numbers provided to the wheels or flywheel? Any dynos? What's the PSI running in each stage? The power gains are listed in Percentage so they will apply to both flywheel and wheel figures. Dyno pics and Vids are available for our test vehicle on www.scionspeed.com.

Gonna get flamed for having an AT, but will their system (At least stage 1) be compatible with the AT transmission? I don't drive stick, I know it would be better for racing and speed and stuff like that, but personally driving stick is just to much multi tasking for me :relief: will the turbo still work with an automatic transmission?
There will be an automatic transmission version available in the future. At the moment the kit is only available for the manual tC.

I can get a T3 for $500. How much would the kit cost, sans the turbo? We are not selling the kits w/o the T3/T4 turbo.

Which engine/platform will it be for? The kit is for the 2AZFE Scion tC platform.

Hope i got everyones questions, you can send me e-mails on the site @ www.scionspeed.com. I would answer here more often, but this site takes extremely long to load sometimes.

Thank You

Jayson

Maybe if you read el prototype article you would understand... has nothing to do with quality has to do with the way the engine is setup. I am just wondering if scionspeed tested it for over 50,000 miles on a xb/xa engine...

16G is a small dinky turbo? I guess thats why the DSM guys put big 16g's on their cars and put over 300 to the wheels on a regular basis.

I wish I had the car and the money to buy the stage 2 kit, its an awesome price for the stup when pre-ordering. MSRP isn't that great but for 320+ hp i am willing to make the exception.

I can't seem to find really good info on what the Stage 2 kit includes.

Fuel management?

Boost controller?

Gauges or sensors?

Polished intercooler piping?

ScionSpeed Stage 2 kit

Turbonetics T04E/T3 50trim .46 turbine
Spearco front mount intercooler 12"x30.5"x3"
R/C 550cc Injectors.
A bigger fuel pump (dont know name)
Turbo Smart 38mm Westgate
Turbo Smart Supersonic BOV
Plug & Play Harness
Greddy Emanage ECU
3" Air Intake System W/ K&N Filter
2.5" Down Pipe w/ Highflow CAT
Stainless Steel Header manifold

Now correct me if I'm wrong....but that was listed when they first had pics @ 10 PSI 295.62 HP 276.31TQ

Yeah, you're right. I was really hoping boost control would be included. Oh well.

I was going to pre-order, but I don't really feel comfortable about sending someone my money for a kit that really doesn't exist yet. As far as I know, they don't have a picture of the kit, nor do they say anything specific about the fuel system or IC.

So I guess I wait and continue to put away money for the difference in price for not pre-ordering and for a boost gauge and boost controller.

how different can the automatic version possible be? i believe the engine components are the same, with the only difference being the transmission, if you had a high stall torque converter, would you be able to run the same kit?

does anyone have a stock dyno curve on hp/torque to compare? I'm not so much for the 1/4 mile. Rather, I like to look at things for the driveability of the car.

Basicaly, will I see problems in the day-to-day driving? Am I going to see some decent gains in the 2000-4000rpm range? Since thats where a lot of people are going to drive?

That aside, way to go to develope a turbo kit =) One of my guilty pleasures is hearing a turbo spool and BOV's pop...sexy!
