Does anyone know if the software is made available to change the settings on the xB2. I went to the dealer the other day and they hooked up to the obdII connector with a laptop and were able to change my key fob so that one push of the unlock button would unlock all of the doors. I would like to have the software and cable so I can change settings like that. Any idea if this is available and where to get?

ya if u have like $5000 bucks and work in a toyota dealership hahaha jk but seriously you will never be able to access the toyota techstream unless you hack it ...i work there and i luckily have access to it...

Honestly, that would be a pretty impressive thing to accomplish... Since you work at a toyota dealership, can you give a little more info as to what type of systems they use for this... i.e. is it just a software peice that runs in a normal non-networked windows enviroment? just out of curiosity....

its on a toshiba toughbook the program is just like a regular program that u can run on windows but the obd cable is linked to the bottom of the notebook....on the program it will give u all the customizable options and the error codes that are displayed...and to program other things...actually wouldnt be a bad idea to try to get the copy of the program and try to run it on my notebook at home

Whats the program called? I bet with a standard obdII cable plugged into the usb on a laptop the software would recognize it. Care to make a copy of the program and let me try?

It would be fun to see if we could get this working. I think we could get somthing worked out... how bout it toyota dealership people? See if you can get cd, dump the ISO and upload it on rapidshare or BT...

correct me if I'm wrong but if this program is accessable by the general public does this mean that anyone could baically customize their factory ecu or can have a completely illeagal car for emmissions tests and still pass because the program will tell the car *jedi hand wave* there is nothing but factory parts on this car. ...um if the program can be used for tC's I'm in

this special laptop is only for dealerships ...it is for all toyota lexus and scion models...

It would be cool if one could get a hold of those restore disks in the "accessory kit" and dump/upload an iso tho...if
you google around all you find is fake rapidshare links and some shady looking dealers in UK that will supposedly sell u a cd... I was think of
calling the 800 number to see what I could find out. I read on another forum that a guy order an ECM cd for
75$ , but I seriously doubt they would
just sell anyone those restore disks
or a setup cd...worth a shot tho, right?

just because you had the software doesn't mean you'd have access to the info.. all i see says you HAVE to have a secure wireless connection.. likely accessible on the dealerships intranet.. like most companies have.. they'll have an intranet site available only AT the location of business.. if you type in the website on any other computer.. it will give you the page cannot be displayed error.. more than likely the same thing with that.. you'd have to be on their network to even gain access to the information

I think they sell these systems to 3rd party shops also, they sell updates to non dealers. It hooks up via a cable built into the dock I belive the wireless is mostly for intranets...as far as just hooking in to the car i'm pretty sure it plugs in. I just think it would be an interesting thng to see if we could get it to work. I'm an junior admin at a bank...lol I know what intranets are, haha :-D
