hey everyone, is it bad to redline the xB? or is it okay once in awhile? i like to baby my ride. but just yesterday i redlined it and didn't really think i should have. i know that this car is not made to do so either so i was just curious if maybe it did any damage? thanks in advance.. :eyes:

you can hit the redline and shift, thats ok.
if you run for miles with the motor bouncing off the limiter, thats a big no no.

I love to baby my cars too... But every now and then you gotta feed some speed to your ride... I think it might actually be good. If your car never sees high rpms it'll get soft. You gotta floor that b*tch once and a while and clear the pipes.

Isn't that what they call an "Italian Tune-Up" ... running through all your grears as you start from a stand still and get on the freeway while hitting redline before each shift?! :eyebrow:

You can do it all you want but keep in mind that the stress from the higher rpms does incur more wear on the engine and related parts.
