Has anyone ever used anything to clean their injectors, or reduce carbon build up in their engine? I see this zMax and want to know if (A) it will be safe to use and (B) if it is really worth it.

I find it hard for myself to put in cleaners in my engine or gas tank, so I need other peoples opinions.

Oh and if you guys wants a laugh there is a thread somewhere on a Suzuki bike forum where a dude put TWO bottles of NOS energy drink in his bike.... yeah energy drink. He thought it was octane booster. That stuff is good for 10-15 gallons, a bike only has three.

Had a good laugh about that one for days.

i wouldn't think much of zmax.. what you'd want to use is BG Products' 44k fuel system cleaner. Dump that into a nearly empty gas tank then pour a can of 44k fuel cleaner in. It's safe for use every 15k miles, it's about $20 a can. www.bgprod.com will show you where to find it. I've used it a lot so have others here, it's excellent.

Im sure there are a few good methods out there.... never heard of the 44K stuff....but will check into it... however what I've used consistently that makes a noticeable difference for me is 1. I only fill up my baby with 91+ octane Shell fuel from a station that does NOT put ethanol in that grade of fuel... then every 4-5K when I do my oil changes I add in either Chevron w/ Tecron fuel system cleaner or one from Lucas Oils... And I do honestly see a noticeable gain from having a clean system. Im at over 5,000 ft. above sea level and I average 32 mpg with all of my mods.

Well im up for a oil change so I think I will buy some Lucas fuel additive. And I only use 91+ octane. People say its a waste but I dont care when I know I am buying the best fuel I can.

When I went to get my car inspected the dealer tried to get me to do a EFI cleaning for like $169, of course I said no thank you. I have heard the BG stuff is pretty good.

yeah i've used the BG products in a lot of cars I've had. It's about the only thing that worked. But yeah good products :)

The one dealer I knew of did BG's fuel induction cleaning (throttle body, intake, engine) that did a great cleaning, but pouring the 44k in the fuel tank is almost just as good :) and much cheaper!
