Default short throw shifter...

Now, i have heard of only the TRD or the TWM performance short throw shifters. Anyone who has either of this can tell me if they like there short shifter or not? I'm contemplating on investing in one. Is it worth it? Also they say that it shortens the height of the shift **** as well? Im kind of concerned since i kind of like it high as it is? just need the throws to be shorter as i dont want to bed low to shift everytime. Anyways, i just want to know which one is a better shifter or maybe a better brand and where have you guys found it cheapest to get it from? thanks everyone!!

Yes, it's totally worth the investment. Not only will your throws be shorter, the car will feel more sporty and fun to drive. I have one on my car and instantly felt the difference One of the best mods you can do to your car, as you get the most bang out of your buck (next to lowering springs)

The TWM short shifter is the best one I've seen, but it's way overpriced in many places. The cheapest they go around is $110 at ptuning.com. I got mine off of Ebay for 90 bucks shipped :D

Beware though, install is a b!tch!

does it come with instructions? how about the height of the shiftknob? is it much lower? i coulden't even begin to picture it much lower . as the height of the shifter stock is perfect as is....but then again i never had the short shifter in.....yet.

It cuts about 2 inches lower than stock and sits in a more neutral position. It may seem a bit low, but it feels perfect to me ^.^

It comes with instructions and everything you need short of the tools. The hard part where you have to take apart the old shifter to put in the new one.

I was on the brink of running it over with my car save the fact I can't drive it without the shifter @_@

There is a really good FAQ on the install in the tech section.

Default Shifter

The TRD shifter will reduce your throw 20% and won't lower the ****. It sells for $129.00 on our site and is a complete kit that comes with the housing so the install is much easier.

The TWM shifter reduces your throw about 30% and it significantly drops the height of the ****. The do have an adjustable **** that is good, but the pricing is a bit extreme.

Here's a link so that you can see the TRD shifter and the link below it will take you to TWM.

Hope that helps.
