Default why did you buy an auto tc and now want a stick?

there are so many people on here that have an auto tc and want to do a swap or a trans upgrade (including myself)

so i wonder, why did you buy an auto?

my story....

my last car was an auto a 95 eclipse gsx turbocharged. It blew up. literally

My car before that was a 5 spd mustang 5.0

and ive had many used cars before those two. My tc was the first new car i ever bought, so i decided i wanted comfort, a nice looking car and an automatic for convenience.I didnt plan on doin a damn thing to my car when i bought it, the only reason i got a tc is because i wanted a new car for a good price.

THEN! of course, i missed speed. I missed boost. Also, i found out about how big the mod scene in the scion community is and i started to see all these sick ___ tc's and was like, yeah, i want that.

So i boosted my tc . I COULD turn the tc back to stock and trade in for a 5 speed but then i would loose out on alot of money. I put a little over 9k into my car so far.
Instead of trading it on or doing a tranny swap, im going to upgrade the trans, put royal purple a/t fluid in, tune this chumpsky to 8psi and pray for the best.

so yeah thats my story.

most people on here had their parents buy there cars....including myself.....and the parents probably knew a manual is easier to mod then auto.

my first tC was an auto i thought it was boring but then it totaled it (not purposely lol) and go a 5 speed, best choice i ever made, my parents were worried that id be racing in it or driving fast because i was young (19 when i got it i think) but i assured them i wouldnt be racing anyone (and to this day, 4 years later i have not raced anyone (on the streets ))

i ended up with an auto cause i didnt realize how much the tc could be modded, so i just wanted something to get me around and still look good. now that i see all i can do to it, i definitely should have went manual. plus, auto is just boring haha

Your mom and mine have that in common lol she said the same thing so thats why I got an auto. We had test drove a 06 350z manual (I feel in love with it) but ended up getting the tc because of the insurance for me on a 350 at age 18 was a killer.

I almost got stuck in the same boat with you guys. I got in an argument with my dad for a couple months before we actually ordered the car about stick vs auto.

We ended up settling on an agreement. He said if i got good grades my senior year in high school, he would let me get the stick. I studied a tad harder and got my manual and never looked back.

I had to get an auto tC because my dad wanted to have some fun in my car sometimes. He herniated disks in his spine, which cause sciatica in his legs and knee, so it's difficult for him to drive manual cars. I don't mind having an auto though.

my dad and i had a big argument...i was 16 and i even told a salesman to go ____ himself lol!
i told him
has to be stick
has to be under 15000
has to have a clean record
has to be a coupe

he tried shoving a bonneville on me and i said no and he kept persisting that, its the type of car i should by and i told him to go ____ himself and walked out. after that my dad argued with me to get auto. i told him im never paying my money for an auto so eventually he told me if thats what i insisted than it must be for a good reason so you buy it, you choose it.

my persistence, determination and hot headed 16 y.o mind paid of. my pops traded the van in for 800 and i threw 700 down and have been paying 300/month since. i just wish i could get my name on the title to build credit

My rs2 was an auto because it was my first car and that just made sense to my parents. At 17, i had not really gotten into the scene yet so i did not know what i wanted out of the car at that time. And now, my super white is a manual and i must say, i enjoy it a hell of a lot more.
