Great experience! I moved to AK in 1977 and went outside in 1983. Back in the '70s, the Alaska Highway wasn't paved, and you had to have plastic headlight protectors. Thanks for sharing the photos.

we over shot dave (shortbus) today, but gonna try to meet up with him marrow since we arnt gonna drive. gonna meet up with infeliciter marrow.

I had to remove my front visor today cause the 3M tape came loose on all the supports and it was flapping in the wind. got to find some more rivets now!!! the visor could handle the Alcan highway, but as soon as we entered the US it came loose.

sucks to hear about your visor man, that sucks how it got all loose. is it gonna hold anymore? damn you have to drill holes in your car for that thing huh.

the holes are in good shape, i need 3M double sided tape and some new rivets that are big enough..no luck finding them.

when I talked to him on the tele yesterday he said close to 5K miles IIRC... but he wasnt too far from being "home"

3500 from AK to cali, and 5000 to AK to south east texas.

Were in Yuba City, Cali right now, looking for a house, the one we found has a 2 car garage, and lots of space for lots more!!!

Glad you made the trip safely.... if I had to guess the 3M tape failed because it was too cold when you installed it and when you got to the US Border the sun warmed the adhesive up again causing it to pull away from the glass.
Cool that Dave helped you get it back on.

agreed with that..i had heaters on my windshield before i installed it, but i was cold in the car and warm out side....it seems to be holding up...but i still need to order some more rivots.
