I have a new tc and I need some help. It has alot of work dove to it and I need to find out what some of these parts are. it has a greddy turbo and a turbo timmer (i think) its an evc hks and says vv06289 0n the back. can you tell me where I can get a manual for this device seems like there is alot to it that I dont get. It was unplugged all together when I got the car today and when I drove the care the idle was rough and im not sure if having this disconnected would have caused this. I dont understand if the device can set boost levels or if its just a timer.

the turbo timer wont cause a rough idle......you need to go to hks' website and type that part number in and read about it.......sounds to me like youve got a lot to learn...no offense at all....just stick to the fi side of the forum and we will teach you as much as we can.

Found out that its an HKS EVC (VI) manual can be found here http://www.scribd.com/doc/2887213/HK...l?autodown=pdf Reading the manual I am still lost. I just want to set the boost to something normal and set it 8.5-10 as of now it seems like it surges in the higher rpms.

I know little about turbos and setting them so bear with me. I got the car today is there a way for me to check?

 

u dont have any gauge's? u need to get gauge's at least a boost and afr gauge.. oil pressure if possible

 

This thing sets the boost level but does not display it?

 

set it at very low boost until you get gauges...you dont want to pop your engine from running to lean, you need at least a boost and afr (air fuel ratio) if it has a rough idle chances are maybe its running lean or one of the vac lines isnt hooked up correctly..did you try talking to the person you bought it from?

bro take it to a good shop. do yourself and the car a favor! you just dont set a boost level and say there its safe! lol find out what you have from who you bought it from and go to a good well known shopthat an tune and go from there. or hey just give me that HKS EVC and call it a day! lol
