I've got 8 - not including the cosmetic tattoos. - I'd post pics, but most are not work safe (that and Big Brother is watching.....) Let's just say that except for one, the others don't show unless I show them .
I've got 4 more planned, and the I'll get the fill work done. I can't wait....I'm getting a serious twitch for more ink!

Awesome! i really like how you incorperated the Star Wars Embelems in your tats. As for me i'm just got one so far of my last name in old english on my calf, but i'm saving up to start on a full calf sleeve. And eventually move up to get a half arm sleeve. As for whoever posted about the UV Tat, i'd highly reccomend NOT GETTING IT. I've only heard bad things about them as far as the ink turning to a brown after like a year and it also being somewhat toxic and such. My sisters friend had one and tried to get rid of it by tattoing over it because it ended up turning brown but she ended up having to get it removed. Bad stuff i tell ya! But its your decision, thats my opinion. (also i dont think any parlors offer it anymore but i could be wrong)

While I can appreciate the artwork, I personally don't like tats. I don't have or want any on me, and I don't care for them on other people (especially girls). My father spent 26 years in the military and he never got one. I guess he instilled in me his feelings about them, and it just kinda stuck. I'm in my late 30's now, and I have loads of friends who have them, but wish they didn't. Most of them got them when they were younger and thought it would be cool. Now that they are a little older, most of my friends are embarrased by them (again, especially the females). The main problem I see with them is that eventually you're going to get tired of it. But it will ALWAYS be there. To each his own, but I just think alot of people are getting them because it's the "in" thing to do, and most of those people are going to regret it later in life.

With many younger people I agree its the "cool" thing with older people I think they put a little more thought into it. Atleast the more mature ones. Most people that are serious about tattoos usually have a reason for it. I know many people are like "i am getting a tattoo this weekend but I haven't decided on what yet" I just shake my head and keep my mouth shut to those people.

I think we've gone through all this before, but I do have to agree.

I got my first one 3 yars ago at the age of 35 and I'm up to 8 - I do this for me, and couldn't care less what other ppl think.

I'm always planning the next one....even as I'm getting one done!

This is on my left calf. It's PMD which stands for my 2 best friends and myself. Paul, Mike (who died) and Dennis.

I, personally, love this tatoo. Hope you guys appreciate it too.

I have 2 more. a scorpion (b/c I'm a Scorpio) on my left shoulder, and a Chinese symbol for "friend" on my right shoulder. When I get pics, I'll show them.

thanks. the dragon was the first one and I'd originally planned on it being about 1/2 the size. but when he made a copy and put it on my arm it looked too small. so I got it bigger. and I got the panther to match in size. when I'm wearing a short sleeved shirt they're hidden, you wouldn't even know I've got 'em.

Here are mine a tribal dragon with a kanji symbol that means power on my left arm and a dragon and pheonix on my back with kanji that says mind body and soul. my next one will be on my right arm a tribal pheonix with the kanji that means grace . they are representative of eternal struggle to find balance. these are two creatures which i think embodies my own personality.

My daughter is designing my next one, tribal band on my right arm, with a dreamcatcher. instead of the normal dreamcatcher web, it will be the zodiac signs for my 3 kids. That way I'll always have them with me.

that's awesome.. glad you're keeping up the "theme" as well. and I completely agree that a tattoo should mean something to you.. that's why i get a little irritated when i see ditzy girls walking around with tribal tattoos right above their butt.. it's like.. c'mon dude, did ya just step out of a girls gone wild video, or what? i thought long and hard about what i wanted.. because it's something i have to be able to live with for the rest of my life. egypt fascinates me and has since i was a child.. i'd really love to study egyptology as a matter of fact. but anyway, getting back on topic yes i agree you should go with something that's important to you, or else you might be hating yourself in a couple years!!

The first one is my family crest. The second one was acually my first tattoo which was messed up but fixed by the artist who did the crest.

BTW, I got my first tattoo when I was 35. :D

sorry overlooked this question before-- the tattoo was very well done, but it was also about 4 days old at the time i took the pic (if you look closely you can see my leg's a bit puffy still around the tattoo) thus the reason the ink still looks very black. it's still nice and black today because i washed it and took care of it as directed and applied the ointment stuff and continue to moisturize regularly. i've no bigger pet-peeve (sp?) than a nasty ol' faded tattoo that hasn't been well kept :no:

It took a long time. I cant see which picture youre reffering to (work filter) but if its my right arm there is over 40 hours in it front and back so far.

Here's my left arm, my name. This was a stupid tattoo I got when I was younger...a friend wanted to get one and wanted me to get one first so he could see how I reacted. After I got it, he didn't have his I.D. so it was worthless. We went back later and he got his.

Here's my one and only. I need to get it recolored. I had ink on the bandage when I took it off just an hour after having it done. It's been fading ever since and I've only had it for 2 years. My freckles also don't help the appearance.

I've got a german boxer and a wolf/husky. Left is a foodog like my boxer, Dutch, and my right arm is griffin, my husky.... black ink only with the foodog and wolf eyes colored. Can't tell, but the wolf has blue eyes like griffin has....

on my crown point on my head I have chen bars (father/heaven) with korean hanul ( meaning sky/heaven) next to it. :wink:

not really.... When I did my arms I did it in 2 sittings. Left took about 15 hours, right took about 17. After the endorphins wear off after 4 hours, it starts to smart a bit.

I was wondering where this thread went. I had mine done 2 weeks ago tomorrow. I had no bleeding, no scabbing, and minimal peeling. This is my first, but not my last. The design is an original. I made it back in high school from a sticker that i saw on a skate board. I modified it, tucked it away, and wanted for the longest time to turn it into a tat. After getting divorced, filing for bankruptcy, and trying like hell to start my life over, i decided it was time.

this is my new tattoo, but it is just the outline for now. it is a skull from a very famous movie series (some will know) and the rest is a japanese filler. hopefully, it will be fully shaded in about 1-2 months

Sort of looked like the skull from "Alien" too, but not so much. You have to have an overactive imagination when its just outlines...

ha ha yea.. must be! I shall PM you momentarily. my next plan is to get a scarab(eventually) somewhere on my back.. not sure yet. i posted way earlier in this post some pictures for ideas. i have a fascination with all things ancient egypt for some reason.

I dunno.. IMO i like to keep everything similar (i.e. similar designs, pictures) but it's your body and your personal preference. but i would say go with the tribal turtle to match the ray on your shoulder- it would look cool.

In case you guys dont know "Hangul" is the formal name for "Korean."

It says...
"Very wise is he that can know himself."

I got the tribal piece about 3 years ago.
Then the hangul about 1 year ago.

The dragon and the smoke was complete early this year. Took three sessions. Prob about 5 to 6 hours for the dragon and the smoke. Totally custom. I go to the shop Wildcard Studios in DE. They hold that tattoo convention in Alantic City every year, Drawin' the Wildcard.

I plan on getting more on my back and elsewhere, but it just doesnt fit in my budget right now.

I never thought the back was all that painful. I did mine in 6 hour sessions.
Under the arm is much more painful.

Breakdown on painful areas:

Very meaty/fatty (stomach, inside of bicep, etc..) - Painful

Very boney (ribs, spine, etc..) - Painful

Boney w/ Meat (deltoid, forearm, etc...) - Not so painful

But if you're pretty tough none of them hurt...

I have a tattoo entirely on the inside of my bicep and it hurt no worse than the others.

I plan on getting a new one that will partly cover my collarbone and I have a feeling that might do a little more than just tickle.

Thanks! I love tattoos, but I'm also into piercings. I have my eyebrow pierced and am getting my belly button done for the 3rd time and my nipples done for the 2nd time. I'm getting those soon! :P
