Default A-holes stole my sh%%!

So im at a apparel show in Secaucus, NJ yesterday and thers an anouncement about my car. im thinking someone hit it but mother%$#@^, someone smashed my drivers side window and stole my Eclipse avn52d headunit.
worst part is they just yanked the center console and the hvac portion is all messed up.
Only had it in the car for about a month, $550 down the drain, $206 to replace the window, gotta see if i can fix the console.
the only good thing is that they cant use it without the security cd.

just venting, thanks for reading.

sorry to hear that man. sucks that people can't have anything these days without other people having envy and wanting to take or damage it.

thanks guys.
well, time to rebuild. wondering if a good alarm would have detered them.
at least they didn't take my ipod, sub, and amp.
thinking about replacing with the the same unit or maby the jvc kw-avx820, it has a detachable screen.

detatchable screens are always a plus. won't hear me complaining about a really good alarm system. if you are going to spend money on an alarm just keep this in mind... if youre going to spend the money then spend it on something really good. good luck!

I feel for ya, bro. I hate thieves and vandals! They only serve one purpose and that is feed for my snakes!
If you're going to get an alarm, I can suggest two things.
1. An alarm with 2-way paging and a good-quality warranty
2. A gun
I'm not big on detachable screens anymore, simply because they become more of a hassle than they're worth. Most of the time, you don't end up carrying the screens with you, which means they get left in the car. Thieves know this, so they don't mind breaking into the car anyway, pulling out the HU, then rummaging through the glovebox and under the seats to find wherever you stuck the detachable face.
If they don't find the detachable face, they are just going to destroy your vehicle anyway.

simple fix, pieces of wood inside, with razor blades wedged in. Someone reaches in, cut their hands up, and just some blood on your seats

well i took a closer look at the damage.
the white palstic thingy that has all the HVAC controls is busted, the light behind the air position **** dosnt work. as long as the main cover is on it looks ok. my new eclipse unit is coming tomorrow and gto to get a good alarm.
on another note, i took apart the stock radio and i think i can use the face plate as a false cover. ill take some pics after im done installing on saturday.

Tanakasan, thank you but thes are not what i am looking for, these double din adapters came with the new radio.
The stock radio has 2 metal brackets on the inner sides that screw onto the radio and to the car, you re-use these on an after market double radio. the ones that you linked just screw onto the the radio and then you slide it into the radio space. not very sturdy if you ask me and even easier for thieves to steal.

Sciond, yes it was at the Mill Creeek Mall next to Wall Mart.

anyone?

I tried to find a junked XB in my area with no luck so only choice left is to order the brackets from the dealer, $13.00 each.

Hey if you have homeowners or renters insurance it will probably cover the cost of the radio. I know my bros civic was broken into and they stole his radio and a set of golf clubs out of it and his renters insurance covered both he just had to show a receipt.
