Default Speaker and Amp suggestions

Hey Guys, I just bought an 09 xB to replace my 06 xB. It has the premium radio which I plan to keep. I'm not a huge fan of the sound quality so I'm planning to replace the front and rear speakers. So, which speakers do you guys recommend? I'm specifically looking to put components in the front. Can the tweeters easily fit and replace the stock location?

Also, what's the best location to put the amp?

Thanks!

1. what's your budget?
2. (re amp location) That really really depends on the amp

It's very easy to enlarge the factory hole and glue any tweeter in place.

Some amps fit under the front seats, rear seat, or on top of the spare. It just depends on the amp.

Can't recommend gear without a budget.

Is a Legacy amp worth $50? Its a 1600 = 4 channel X 400. I have two Audiobaun 12s that are rated at 1000 watts each. Ya'll think the Legacy would push them ok? Like I said its $50!! tell me if its junk though there is no point in it setting in my garage if its junk.

Guys, thanks for the replies. Here's what I'm thinking:

Front Components: Polk Audio MM6501

Rears: Polk Audio db521

Amp: ALPINE MRP-F300

Will the amp have enough power to drive the components? Eventually, I'll also hook up a sub.

I'd try to get something in the 125-150w per channel range. If it's out of your budget or you're not dead set on using the amp to power your rear speakers, you could get a better 2-channel amp and just leave the rear speakers running off of the HU power.

I wouldn't waste any money on rear speakers unless you were planning on watching DVDs and were going to be relying on them more for a surround sound setup.

You should seriously try fading all the way to the front. It sounds so much more real in these cars (or any car for that matter)

I'm not even powering rear speakers at all in mine.

I use Focal Polyglass V30 165 set of components in my '11 running off of a Alpine pdx 5 . Kenwood image coax in rear doors since they don't matter that much anyway. I also have a single Hertz hi energy 10 in a custom designed box( tech director at Hertz USA designed it for sub and car) and it runs off the 400 Watts from the mono part of the pdx 5. Everything fits great and sound is spectacular. EISA gave the focal set top marks, and Hertz, which is a division of elettromedia also makes audison products which are consistently rated best in the world. I can have all the windows down at 55 and I lose almost no clarity or sound. It took a bit of trial and error, but this setup is killer. Only thing i need now is a bit one. Can't go wrong with focal and Hertz. Audiophile quality. Hope this helps. Aloha!
