Have had the tC for over 7 months and still surprised on nice the stock system is. I also looked at the Mazda 3 and that stereo was terrible. Might upgrade with an amp in the future but saving my money for now. The tC stock system is much nicer than my other cars which have been a Camry, Highlander, Escort, and Corolla.

are you retarded??? .....I'm sorry....that was uncalled for....
i agree....for what we've paid for our cars....it does have a better than average stereo in it...but IMO....it needs much more.....I had my tC for 3 weeks before a system went in.....and now i'm upgrading that system.....all in personal listening preference.....i hope i didn't offend anyone with the retarded comment and once again..my apologies...

First off...yes, I wrecked my Neon and had a Sebring for a week, MUCH better than the Sebring.
Second, I had my TC for 6 days before gutting it(no days off before then :)) It's nice for a stock stereo but leaves much desired.

i was pretty impressed with the stock system. I had the stock speakers and head unit in for awhile, but just had an amp running them and it sounded really good. I think they are just underpowered.
I like the stock system and it's even better if you change the stereo setting from tC to either xB or xA. I'm pretty sure there's a post about doing this already but for those who don't know if you hold the SSP button down it'll show tC and you can change to other modes by pressing the volume up and down buttons

The stock system is impressive, coming from a 1996 Sony in my last car, and the stock stereo in my girlfriend's Ford Contour...
