View Full Version : Photoshop tips and tricks thread.....
Elijahtc 07-31-2009, 12:57 AM This will be a place for tips and tricks and tutorials on how to achieve certain style images through photoshop.
I know Jon had an action that he was showing everybody for a LOMO look to photos.
captainlaziness 07-31-2009, 01:02 AM Fantastic idea!
Schweet. Expect a lot of links from me in the coming days. I'll try to put an example of a photo I used a given technique on with every link.
Ro_Ja 07-31-2009, 01:41 AM Awesome, Jon. I can't wait to see!

I'm going through all my old pics on Flickr (pre Dü Werke) so I can re-edit them w/ my new logo. I came across this one and decided to Draganize it. Normally this action is used on portraits but I like to use it whenever. The action alone will not yield exactly what you see because it depends on the way you set it up. Also things were done post-action.

B-Man92 08-14-2009, 03:36 AM i guessing that download isn't Mac friendly
Ro_Ja 08-14-2009, 04:18 AM I'm a Mac user and I had no problems with that.

Ro_Ja 08-14-2009, 05:26 PM All I did was double clicked it and it installed itself.

Elijahtc 08-14-2009, 11:01 PM worked for me but it definiltey isn't an instant action. it just walks u through every step. I like the LOMO action better cause it is literally just the press of a button.
I like the fact that it asks for user input at each step. I like to have more control over the final image. The Vintage Film action is similar in that it leaves everything separated into layers.
i download it...then tried doing it and it said the file was too big...is there an specific size its gotta be?
I've never had that problem and I'm shooting RAW where my files are constantly +10mb.
never mind..there's two types...one for smaller images and one for larger.
anybody have more tutorials? :)

I don't see why using those specific values would produce any better results than the mode adjustment -> B&W if you are adjusting the curves/levels afterwards. It's going to do the same thing, essentially.
DonNguyen 02-08-2010, 10:50 PM those numbers are used to replicate the look of black and white FILM and adjusting curves/levels afterwards us just to suit your specific taste, increase brightness/contrast like using filters in the darkroom (though i highly doubt many of you know anything about that)
SquallLHeart 02-08-2010, 11:06 PM i know darkroom. heheh.
DonNguyen 02-09-2010, 12:59 AM print film darkroom...not the program :p
