im lookin to get some spacers for my rear wheels since i dont like how they sit inside the body line of the car. I know nothing about them for this car, and we all know how crappy the search is on here.

So can someone give me some pics and suggestions and pictures?

assuming for stock wheels?

25mm in the rear and 20mm in the front, get the bolt on kind (ichiba version 2 or project kic)

Just be careful with the brass nuts as they are very soft and strip easily and dont torque them down too hard or they will F up. One of mine warped somehow while tightening with a 80 ft lbs tq stick.

i have some 15mm h&r spacers i could sell ya...

nah i have 17x7 MB Weapons with a 48 offset. I am also lowered on Hotchkiss Springs, but may be getting coilovers but not till next summer.

i was thinkin 20 in the back and 15 in the front?

I have 17x8s +35 and in front, unless you do fenderliner mods at least, I cant go much further out. My tire already rubbed a huge hole in my fenderliner where it starts to slant down.

+33 in the front your looking for will look good, and +28 in the rear will poke out slightly further than mine, which you still might be able to fly with before rolling the fender lip. Right now im like 7mm or so before my tire rubs.

What tires are you running? width/sidewall


I think your on the right track. It wont be hellaflush, but it will look good and be driveable. Just let the front tires rub off what they need to of the plastic.

I would say Ichiba since they seem to be popular and are a lil less expensive. Check the sponsored sales for vendors. But I would go with version one where you replace the stock wheel studs even though they will be tough to get out and replace but I have heard of rusting problems with the spacers with studs that fit over the existing ones as they rust to your hub. But I dont know about going 20+mm with spacers. I wouldnt feel safe going more than 15mm. But there have been people who have done it. Just personal preferance.

so so far 15 in the front, but i want the rears to be noticeably spaced. my buddy has his jetta spaced in the rear and it has a sick wide stance to it, the sidewall of the tire lines up perfectly with the fender, which is what i want so maybe 20 in the rear? cause the rears are set in farther from the body than the fronts are

I got pics in my original profile, but the most of them are in my progression thread link in my sig. Got most of the pics on the 1st post, but there are others on the last and 2nd to last page.

Not sure if you noticed or not but theres a 1inch bodylip around the rear fenders that needs to be rolled to get that nice wide stance without rubbing it. Right now im close to touching that, cant fit my finger between the gap, and it still doesnt look real aggressive. I could roll that lip and probably squeeze a 20mm spacer in there and run +15 with some camber to look more aggressive. Putting me at 17x8 +15 in the rear.

My advice to you is to get a pair of 25mm for the rear and then if you have to you can roll the lip a bit, but I dont think you'll need to. If you do, at least you still get that aggressive-ish look.

the fronts on here look pretty sick to me but i want the rears like that but maybe a tad more stickin out, the rears here arent spaced right?

then here they do looked spaced lol, but then again those wheels have a lower offset number then mine, so you need smaller spacers but whats the offset at in this pic?

No, no spacers and almost no camber. Still within stock specs, i forget what that is.

I already sized it out to see what kind of spacer I could work on the rear, and 10mm was too much with my 225s since I didnt want to roll the lip.

To get your rears to look like my fronts, you're going to need to roll that lip.



the rears in that pic are still the same, 17x8 +35. Theres another pic floating somewhere of how close the rear tire is to rubbing the metal lip in there... ill try to find it if you want

well i only have 17x7;s with 225's so i can go a bit further than you when it comes to spacer size... maybe i should just go 15 all around or 15 front 20 rear...idk

I have bolt on Ichiba II 15mm spacers in the rear and the little brass looking nuts they inlcude are pretty soft metal it seems. I asked for a replacement nut from them but they never responded lol.

I have this exact same set-up now but in bronze...It looks great and need for spacers!

even with your wheel specs i still think you should do 20mm in the front and 25 mm in the rear, it will give you the best stance with spacers and it will be wicked aggressive if you go any smaller then those youre a wimp :P

^^ what i'm thinking about doing...just debating if just spacers are worth the couple hundred lol, maybe wait till the birthday

+28 F / +23 R is going to be very aggressive, now were getting into hacking the fenderliners, rolling the rear lip, and perhaps some re-securing methods of the bumper depending on how low you are.

I had H&R spacers on my tC. The kit came with balanced spacers and longer wheel studs. Get ready to hammer the old studs out and air socket the new one's in.
