AutoX Videos from Yesterday
Our event is actually supposed to be all weekend. It's a two day, four course event. So yesterday was two courses and today would have been two courses (I skipped today b/c it is raining).
How the scoring works: you run 4 runs on one course, swap for the afternoon and do 4 runs on the other course. Combine both times for the day for final results.
My South course runs:

I ended up with I think a 50.078 for this course. This was good for second of 4 cars in ST by about 0.2 seconds. We were all really close on this course.
My North course runs:

I did a lot better on the North course for I think a 67.277. Closest other car in ST was 69.something + 1 cone... I think. There were some issues with the results files on one of the computers, so we're awaiting final results (thank the scion gods for backup, handwritten times).
So I should have the overall win for the day in ST. Which is actually pretty cool, because I rarely get any decent competition in my class (all of the ones from yesterday were from other regions - and know what they're doing).
And what would be a racing post without a shout out to Corbeau for the seats?!
To be quite honest, I didn't even THINK about the seats or harnesses or moving around or anything during any of my runs. I didn't have to. The difference was ridiculous. I could throw the car around the course all day and not move around at all. Crazy difference.

The South course looked awesome. I need to get on some airport autocrosses, they seem a lot more wide open...
Oh, and in the South course video, what was the black mark in the middle of the driving line? It looked like someone laid oil down for an entire run.

Ya, it was an FM car that busted its oilpan or something on a bump. It wasn't as bad as the video made it look, but there was definitely a line all the way around until he finally realized something was wrong and pulled off about 100 yds from the finish. Not even the first time that's happened there. One of the surface transitions has a nasty bump for really low things to hit. No way of avoiding it.
