UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:12 AM i have an 09 tc and im thinking of getting a tsudo midpipe..
http://www.speed-element.com/servlet/Detail?no=136
from the cat running to the back axle and putting on an injen ses axleback exhaust..

my questions are:
is this whole thing a simple bolt on installation?
will i see changes in my hp and/or fuel mileage?
what kind of sound will it have or will it have the nice loud deep tone sound with this setup?
please help. thanks.
tCtCtC 08-03-2009, 07:15 AM -yes, it is a simple bolt on
-youll feel a small change, not sure about mpg
-it should sound along the lines of a regular tsudo system, maybe a little deeper.
breaux_tC 08-03-2009, 07:16 AM is this whole thing a simple bolt on installation? - yes
will i see changes in my hp and/or fuel mileage? - not really and no
what kind of sound will it have or will it have the nice loud deep tone sound with this setup? - a fairly deep one as long as you dont plan on adding a header
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:28 AM thanks for the answers. a few more questions tho:
would i pass totally pass smog with this exhaust setup? with the db and emissions?
how would the sound differ from my exhaust now?(magnaflow resonator from the cat and the rest is straight piping)
breaux_tC 08-03-2009, 07:30 AM yes & you will probably hear less back pressure
tCtCtC 08-03-2009, 07:30 AM HAHA at smog and dB. This setup is pretty loud, considering I have something similar to it.
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:34 AM haha. sorry. i dont kno much about this yet. but anyways. would i pass if i put on the stock muffler again but kept the tsudo midpipe?
daffy12 08-03-2009, 07:36 AM im pretty sure you'd need the 2nd cat to pass smog...
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:37 AM how would i put a 2nd cat on?
daffy12 08-03-2009, 07:42 AM putting a cat on your mid would defeat the whole purpose of buying the tsudo midpipe. if you still have your stock midpipe...just swap them out when its time for smog...
tCtCtC 08-03-2009, 07:44 AM not unless you run a high flow cat.
i have one for sale thatll work for the tsudo for 140 shipped.
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:45 AM ooh. haha. i guess i gotta find a stock midpipe to buy off someone then.
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:48 AM thanks anyways. haha. im just doing my research on what i want for now. i dont really like the magnaflow exhaust i have right now. and i wanna kno more about the smog aspect of it.
tCtCtC 08-03-2009, 07:50 AM You should pass with a high flow cat on. As long as you keep the stock header on then it should be fine.
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:52 AM how exactly would i install that?
tCtCtC 08-03-2009, 07:52 AM Unless you can cut and weld, you would have to take it to an exhaust shop.
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:53 AM lol just so i can pass smog? worth it?
tCtCtC 08-03-2009, 07:55 AM That's your call. It can be more convenient for you when you do need to get it done, or else your going to be running around for a OEM midpipe when the time comes.
UBNOXUStC 08-03-2009, 07:57 AM haha i think i might as well try to mind a stock midpipe for when that time comes.
