Default HID Fog Light Install

Hey guys,

Just wondering how easy it would be to install HID's into my fog lights (OEM)? Also, which bulb it would be, H11?

Can I install them without removing the front bumper and just removing the bottom splash shield to get access to the harness/bulb?

Has any of you guys done this yet and if so, what is the cutoff like from the fog lights?

Thanks!

you will need 9006 HID kit, you can do it all by just removing the top grill, or even by just reaching down between the radiator support and the bumper

you will have to find a spot to mount the ballast, but it should be cake, all depends on how mechanically inclined you are

i have a friend who had trouble changing a light bulb, god knows what he would do with an HID kit, lol

It will look like crap and you will blind on coming traffic. If you want more light output from you fogs get some h9 bulbs and modify them to fit.

Yes there will be glare, and yes, you might blind oncomming traffic, but it wont look like crap, lol

just like any HIDs in any halogen reflectors

I was wondering how bad the fog light glare really was... I have *NO* issues with my low-beams running HID's, but the projector housing is a bit more "focused". Never been flashed since I installed them over a year ago...

Thanks for the comments so far... Any more appreciated!

I have HIDs in my OEM foglights and I don't blind oncoming traffic. It is h11 bulbs by the way not 9006. It is easiest to just take the front bumper off. Easier to mount the ballasts.

How easy is the removal of the front bumper?

I am most worried about the clips or whatever, I don't want to break anything... I consider myself pretty good mechanically, but I can be clumsy

I meant the cut-off would look like crap (or lack of a cut-off I should say).
