kind of. more less trying out as long as i want. it's a ~$700 lens so i don't know if ill be buying one of my own anytime soon.

I don't get paid for this either but it is SUPER fun lens to have. It's the lens I go to when I can't find a picture or get creatively blocked.

it IS a cool lens to have. just can't overuse it. you don't want to be "that guy". it is just a lens that isn't getting used from a government funded photographer working for uncle sam so he let me "sign it out" as long as I want to use it and produce stuff around the world for him to use in the newspaper.

Lol I bought it based on the sheer attention it gets. Whether he's in jail or not isn't relevant to my interests lol.

Set up is just 1 SB-600 camera right bounced off the ceiling at 1/16 power. Natural light through the window to my right. My wall is actually blue so it worked out well.

EDIT: Is that the one that can be used off the camera?

Technically any shoe-mount flash can be used off camera. But I think the 600, 700, 800, and 900 are the only ones that can be fired via Nikon CLS.

mirror shots aren't exactly self portraits. It's just a myspace profile photo snap shot. a self portrait would be shot just like any other portrait just ur not behind the camera.

thats scarily common these days. folks leaving college with more debt than a house. kinda sad :-( but usually their own faults. like you said, caving to the ever enticing student loan for everything.

i also have an AA with 0 current debt because of it. im starting on my BS now (i got out of HS in 04 and finished my AA in 07) and 80% of my school will be paid for by work the other 20% (3 classes each summer) ill have to cover. my masters will be 100% covered because im gona do that at the rate which my job will pay for, 2 classes a semester. my BS im doing more aggressively just because im tired of having to admit to not having one.

i didnt have the opportunity to work during school and i went to 6 years of school, i was origionally going towards my BS degree in Chemistry, but things fell through then i switched to BioChemestry at a different school, then i hated that and went back to the first school i went to and then left there again for a different school and went with the AS degree..


short story, i made a lot of bad choices and wish that i could do it all over again. :(
