WHen you guys are driving on the highway at around lets say 65 mph are you feeling the body swaying back and forth? or does it stay stiff to the ground? because my fiance gets car sick rather easily and the swaying is a big thing that makes her sick.....so i need your opinions on this it would really help me out alot

Test drive with fiance. If the floor mats stay clean, buy the car. Our opinions mean very little, we just like to talk.

Just for me then...I wouldn't buy a car without a test drive first...unless it were a special edition or something.

Maybe put the XB on reserve, but have an alternate car in the background. I came this close to getting a Matrix.

I had a mustang that my girl used to always get car sick in. I don't know what you're riding in now, but sitting upright in the xB really makes a difference for her. It doesn't sway like an SUV either.

The ride is a little stiff and over some roads the back will bounce a bit with the stock springs. It's a short car so don't expect it to ride like a lexus. Aftermarket lowering springs might help a bit.

I find that on the bad freeways in LA I noticed the xB would get this back and forth rocking motion at just the right speed. It might be an issue. I have never noticed any swaying. For ME motion sickness is quite exacting as to what makes me sick and what does not. Aa was stated earlyer,,,,try it out.

You might want to do this, Many dealers will RENT you a car. Have them rent you the Scion you want for a day and then go for a REAL testdrive. Explain the situation to them. (not about the sickness...that you just want a REAL testdive before you buy)

some people sold their xb after they got it because wife doesnt like the ride...
so u better test drive one before u make decision, even though its not an expensive car...

My wife didn't like the ride in the xB until I but the eibach springs on it. See said that it totally made a difference. Also, I never drive a 65 mostly 80, so she did say that she was getting a little sick on one drive.

dinkjs I think that if she were to get sick with factory stuff lowering it will inprove the ride, and might help with her not getting sick.

I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse right now and I have all the strut bars tie bars sway bars on this car so it helps...it sits low so of course my fiance doesnt get car sick.....the rocking motion is what i am afraid of the most......but do you think upgrading to the Hotchkis Sway bar set or even getting the C-One front sway bar would help with the rocking along side getting all the body support tie bars and the front strut bar would ease down the rocking....yes yes i know strut bars and tie bars are more for body flexing but it helps alittle in terms of handling

I have the Hotchkis swaybars and the box drives smooth and flat at highway speeds...before installation I never experienced swaying on my drives from L.A. to San Diego.

i have never had a car sway back and forth unless it is the freeway. i haven't notice anything like that with the scions though.

it was fairly windy here about a week ago, and the wind is a little more noticable in this car than my old nissan 200sx. of course, that's to be expected when comparing the two cars. it's honestly not that bad, but you might notice the wind a little more between the eclipse and the box. if it's a normal day, i'm actually surprised at how much the xB rides like a car. it is a short car, and it's light, so it bounces around a little bit over the big cracks, but other than that, its great. i'm planning on getting the tanabe strut tower bar next week, i hope it gets rid of a little bit of the body roll as i'm going about 80mph through a sweeping S on my way home.

Pending on tire width and groves of the road, there may be some swaying. I expereinced it with stock tires on both an aX & xB, which are skinner. I also test drove an xB with wider tires and larage rims, and there was a significant difference. Wider tires cover more surface area, less swaying better grip. Skinny tires is like riding a road bike with skinny tires though a sanding area, you tend to sway and loose control.
