Default Sigh.....Give me Strength

Hey all,

So yesterday I went and got my windshield replaced. (a small chip turned into a foot long crack on my shield) $232 later I come into work to park in the Garage. I pull back into my parking space and......BAM!?!@#*&($# I look and see I back into the lowered concrete ceiling that I see is level with the top of the rear window ( I didn't see it) After a brief 30 secs of gaping at the window shards fall. I get out of my car and see the obvious, then see the top of the hatch door dented in pretty bad... And I thought the 13th was my lucky day...

Anyways, has anybody replaced rear window? (if I'm right I'll have a feeling I'll have to replace the entire hatch door.) Or the whole damn door?

You may not have to replace the hatch the dent may be repairable. You might try car-parts.com to look for a used hatch in your area.....thats if you dont want to get your insurance co involved.

Take care and good luck...it really could be worse.

Hey thanks, and you're right. My dad said the same exact thing it could have been worst... But I'll see what the stealership will say about the denting, then get a second opinion. I hope I won't have to go that far. I'll post some pics of it later today...

looks like its time for a carbon fiber hatch now ;-)

as far as the hatch glass goes, look in the classifieds section, call around to some junk yards in your area, im sure youll be able to find one without having to pay retail.

So I got quoted today...$300 dead even for the window and moulding...Not bad i guess. It's just that dent that has me scared. It's pretty deep in there too. Sigh...If that could be fixed along with the window for close to that, I think I can manage?

Hey thanks about the junk yard tip...I hope I don't have to go that route.
