Can someone describe to me in brief about the Hondata and why Trd or toyota can or cannot come out with a ECU enhancement like this?

toyota don't make supras anymore... however, they are coming back in maybe in 07 or 08s (along with the release of a supercar like the Viper GT-S, NSX). i worded my sentence wrong. i meant "toyota is NOT into performance anymore but quality and reliability in their cars." (they always has been into quality and reliability) i apologize for that.

yes, mods. mods are endless money pit. if you have enough money you can make the tC 1,000+hp car if you wanted to. not to be off topic... Spec V has 3-4 years of history but there still isn't any aftermarket ECU (let it be standalone or piggy-back; not talking about SAFC or general stuff like that) for it. Scion is aiming at the right direction for happy modding. wait till the SC comes out maybe Scion would surprise us with stages as well.

p.s. please don't take it as an attack to you guys. i just want to point out different car makers have different directions in the cars they are marketing.

Hondata is an excellent mod when used properly, a good or even moderate tuner can make miracles happen when you couple the unit with a heavily modified NA or boosted application. It isn't something that you're gonna need if you only have the basic stuff (i.e. I/H/E). Before my tC I had a mild NA setup in my Civic EM1 and I loved my hondata. And trini is correct, Hondata is a third party company that has no affiliations with Honda, they just made a product that worked specifically for Hondas

LOL, that's the truth! BTW, Hondata is standard equipment on the Comptech supercharger for the RSX-S, which can all be installed by your dealer with full warranty. It true that it isn't made by Honda though.

Chipping is nothing new though guys, and are available for a wide range of cars and trucks. Some cars just repond better to these mods than others, that's all.

Maybe someone can talk to them about making one for the tC. tC have good potentials. It looks like a pretty nice kit for the money.

Hondata is just a chipped ECU w/ boost control and data logging...look into an AEM EMS if you want quality work.

They have the unichip, too. I think a lot of Matrix owners have them. I've heard of a couple of echos running unichips too...

What a waste, unless he got the k20 for cheap.

I'd rather have it in an eg hatch. Hello, 12's.
