Default Just installed my TRD Short Shifter

I thought this was going to be difficult. Took about 30 minutes start to finish. I decided to use my original shift **** though. I found the TRD **** to be really small in my hand. I bought it off of ebay for 100 bucks from a Toyota dealer. Worth every penny and would highly reccomend do it yourself installation.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll love it. I bought a Momo **** for mine. It is very comfortable.

I suggest removing the shift boot and sewing it up so it will be more snug around the shaft. It looks a lot better than just leaving it open and huge. Here's mine.

If it breaks Toyota will replace it. I can't see how it can wear any worse than the original factory one. It's the same material and the same design. I can afford to purchase any one I wish.
I just chose to get that one.

this is what it looks like before its installed in a shifter base. I dont have any pics of it in a car. Just imagine the **** being 1.5" lower than stock, and 30% less throw.

Questions: What is wrong with the stock shifter??? I have no problem with mine. Will it break or something? (not trying to be a smart ___, just want to know...)

And, the deal with the shift boot: Mine is very snug right now, and fits snug with the tC shift **** I have on my xB. So, are you saying if you get the TRD shifter, the boot will not, look right?

And if this is a DIY mod, what do you got to do to do this?

Thanks.

I have not seen a stock shifter break.
The TRD shifter doesnt allow the use of the chrome ring at the top of the shift boot, so the boot is all sloppy and floppy.
