View Full Version : rear fold down seat HEAVY!!! Maybe you just grabbed it from a bad angle? Ashe_WCM 01-30-2005, 10:08 PM Lift weights :P jct 01-30-2005, 10:17 PM ^^^what he said lol XaRS0888 01-31-2005, 06:58 AM Lift weights :P haha i lift weights 4 hours a day. 5 days a week :eyes: it just felt heavy compare to all the other fold down seats i experienced. hotbox05 01-31-2005, 08:14 AM it's decently desinged i mean toyos are pretty over engineered adorable 02-01-2005, 03:38 AM I'd say it's on the lighter end of fold down rears. Definitely nowhere as heavy as what you'd find on big sedans or SUVs, and I can easily one-hand lift/lower the baby from the rear hatch opening. Pushing it down is easy - pull up one lever, push the back and it falls right down. (watch it! you must set the front seat forward enough so that the headrest clears the back of the passenger seat) Pulling it up is just as easy, climb in a bit, grab the top of the back, and lever it back up as you lean back (don't just pull with your arm, the leverage isn't there for most people - and it's safe to use the entire body as a dead weight). Either that or simply open the rear side door, and flip it back up. At first, it was hard to get the hang of where to hold the rear seat to lever it back up from the hatch opening - probably what you're experiencing now. But after I got the hang of it (a few tries), it's easier than can be and I never have to go from the side anymore. Overall, feels like pull up a 20-25lbs object when lifting the rear up again. Nothing I'd say difficult or tought (for me; and male). 02-01-2005, 03:46 AM If you want to talk about heavy, try moving one of those removable seats in the old Astros and Safaris! You can break your back trying to work it by yourself :P XaRS0888 02-01-2005, 08:26 AM If you want to talk about heavy, try moving one of those removable seats in the old Astros and Safaris! You can break your back trying to work it by yourself :P those are solid meatl frame, i once had to install 4 rows of them in a ford econoline van and it took me days to recover. lol XaRS0888 02-01-2005, 08:29 AM I'd say it's on the lighter end of fold down rears. When I get done with a good workout, a freakin' pencil feels heavy for a while. :P adorable 02-02-2005, 09:17 PM From the front?!? No wonder! Not only does the xA has too small gap between the seats to reach anything on the rear seat, you also get no leverage to push that baby back up. I wouldn't bother too many times or you'll hurt yourself. Also, make sure the seat belts are in their clipped position. |
