Default question about blow thru maf guys....gurus chime in

so i was reading a while back about when you do a blow thru maf style you need your maf in a piece of strait pipe. wwweeellllll mine is in a 90 deg bend right before tb.....whats the cons of this? why does it need to be in a strait pipe? im assuming to get an accurate reading?

ya a perfect place is right after the bend on that pipe, the fluctuation of the TB might cause some turbulence with the reading, also dont have it to close to the BOV.
