I was thinking about hard wiring my radar detector using one of the fuses under the dash. The radar detector hard wire set up has its own fuse and a grounding cable. I was wondering if this could void my warranty? Thanks for your help

everything can void your warranty , just dont cut into a wire , use a fuse spliting thing .

you could just extend the cigarette plug down into the OEM socket get a splitter and plug it in, then tuck the socket and plug somewhere where its not visable.

no wires would be cut. I actually had this in my old car and just wrapped the wire around one side of the fuse and pushed it back into place.

u could do that, but just to be on the safe side i'd remove it before going to the dealer.

btw: they make these "fuse adapter" things that you can connect a spade connector to. That could also be used.

They have to honor your waranty as long as what ever mods you have done did not cause the problem. That is the law.

This sounds like the best method. Just put orignal fuse in if you go for electrical warranty work.
